I think the only thing that can save Vita now is piracy.

yea, that will surely increase the trust publishers have in the Vita and make them develop more/bigger games for the system

Nintendo DS, PS1, PS2, and Wii are the easiest to pirate systems and the most successful ones.

DC was one of the easiest to pirate aswell

the pirating wasn't what made these systems successful, it was exclusive software titles with mass-market appeal

I think you are missing the point. Vita will likely be linked to ps4 in many ways. Sony isn't going to ignore vita because of ps4.

Exactly this. I would pay double what they are asking if there was complete remote play. But as it stands, I can't really justify the purchase.

Yea, I tried remote play with mine, but unfortunately that was limited to PS minis,PS1 games (both of which can be played on the PSV itself anyway) and Pixeljunk's PSN games. They should offer remote play with every game stored on/inserted in the PS4 to make that a real feature.

What's it like owning one? Does it feel worth the price? I'm really tempted, especially as I'm building up a game library with PS+. I feel like I should wait untl PS4 in case there are bundles or a hardware refresh. It's this, plus wanting to see the remote play with PS4, that is stopping me right now more than the price.

DC had other problems, mainly Sega management and people waiting for the PS2. It would have died the same without piracy.

piracy on a successful system usually isn't that big of an issue to it's general performance, it might even sell a few millions more because of it, but it will kill unsuccessful systems, as it's further decreasing the chance for a game to sell enough units

Yes, as I already wrote in this thread I had a blast with Gravity Rush (got me hooked enough to platinum it, which I usually don't do) and LBP Vita was outright the best LBP I've played. Additionally Big Sky Infinite and Tales of a Mutant Blob were nice experiences and because it can play PS minis and PS1 games I finally played some of those I got from PS+ month (or years) ago. "Where is my heart" for instance is an amazing puzzle jump and run.

As you can see I mainly got it because I already had games from PS+ for the system and at the 200€ I payed for the 3G version + LBP Vita + 4GB mem card I think it was totally worth it.

The system itself runs very smoothly and feels great, the screen is extremely beautiful, just compared to a real tablet it's functionality is pretty limited (youtube works great; the browser is pretty slow, but scrolling with the backtouch pad is a good feature). I think they should have made the PSV able to boot into android and it should have come with a real TV out in my opinion..

Maybe they will change this with a hardware refresh and if they do I'll probably feel a bit cheated ;).

$199 should do it.

Id imagine being the same price as a PS3 (and its games aren't exactly on par with it) is putting people off.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Oh my god... I was asleep and this thread too off! Il reply after I read through 12 pages :O

they should drop it to 179$ and include a memory card with each vita. but they will most likely drop it to 199$

$179 looks like a good price. Partner it with a little redisign maybe and a few colours. Plus a big game

Its already selling at a loss. Then they can't cut the price.

The system doesn't do anything unique enough to warrant a purchase. And it's market is folks that wanna look cool while they sit by them selves and play on it in public. A very small market.

I wonder what patcher has to say about THEM APPLES!!!!

I'm 22 so I wouldn't dream of playing a vita in public tbh. I brought it as It has fantastic games and amazing integration with the playstaion network. It's basically a Ps3 in my hands. I didn't buy it to be cool.. I brought it for the amazing games. So just because you don't want one doesn't mean it doesn't do anything new.

£179 with a 4gb memory card and a game would do well.

Thing is it was already that price in some stores in the UK at Christmas with Assassin's Creed/need for speed/LBP or COD with a 4gb card and that didn't do much. It still needs more :/
