No, the damage is done
The average 70 I.Q guy will keep skipping Nintendo forever

...and what of those with an IQ above 70?

...some will and some wont depending on their (good or bad) tastes...

What does IQ have to do with taste?

The Gamecube (as the original xbox) had the PS2 to compete with, but now that the PS brand is not as big as it was before a GC2 could do a lot better in terms of sales. Marketing was a problem during the GC era, and based on the Wii U it looks like that wasn't going to change.

In terms of 3rd party support it would be hard to tell, the GC had decent 3rd party support (at least compare to the Wii), so I think a GC2 would have the same amount of 3rd party games. I think a modern GC would be a moderate success, obviously a lot of variables, but if I had to guess maybe a little lower to the current PS360 in terms of sales.

PS brand is not as big????? The only brand that can survive such a horrible launch is the ps brand that just showes you how big it is

Having a 150m userbase to a (max) of 90m is bad no matter how you look at it. Especially considering during that gen Sony had the exact same competition as this gen (Nintendo and MS), it wasn't like a "lone wolf" or anything.

If the PS2 launched with a $599 pricetag than you can say that.

And that's one of the reasons why the PS brand is weaker. Sony made some huge mistakes this gen that made them lost people, especially in the U.S.

ill bet you 5 slaps on the ass, If Microsoft or Nintendo's nextgen consoles comeout with a $599 pricetag they wont do the same thing the ps3 did, You can tell now by looking at the chartz the ps3 is kicking ass left & right with the same price tag as the others.

Most gamers aren't nerds. Popular and social people game as much as the nerdy people these days.

Also, can we PLEASE stop saying Nintendo is for kids.

Nintendo isn't, but Gamecube certainly was. The console was shaped like a Purple Lunchbox and had a Fisher Price controller. Plus the flagship games were a weekday afternoon cartoon version of Celda, and Mario with a squirt-gun.

The Gamecube was the most adult focused nintendo console of all time. First of all, Wind Waker is ten times the game that Twilight Princess is. Aesthetic isn't everything. Secondly, METROID FU**ING PRIME. The Gamecube had F-Zero, two excellent Metroid games, a fantastic Zelda game, decent third party, eternal darkness, a controller that didn't require you to waggle..

Your crazy if you think the gamecube was for kids. The Wii was for kids.

That doesn't mean anything in the long run. Sony made that mistake, and they pay for that, in 60m (maybe?) in userbase and 5 billion dollars to their bank account. I know a lot of people who move from Sony to MS, and only Sony is to blame for that.

Look at the Gamecube and tell me whether it has an adult in mind. It looks like a Fisher Price lunch box.

Nintendo has never made an adult focused console, ever. They might have had mature games on the console, but never have they made a console with adults in mind. In fact adults were the main people who never took videogames seriously when Nintendo was on top.

Only if they change up the design. If I was a 13 year old I wouldn't be caught dead with a "cute" design system like that. If I was an adult I would say it belonged to one of my kids.

Are you serious?? The black gamecube looked bad ass. Way better than the ugly xbox.
