Wait how is it racist? Really I don't see how, and create another language the worldwide language. I can only think of two that can do that English and Chinese.

well the good thing about it, we have our common language and we can talk with our primary language to people who can speak the same language and the exclusive english speaker couldn't understand...

btw i heard there are a lot of french who can speak english but if a tourist ask them if they speak english they just say no... are french racist against english?

Add that to it being the language of science and it becomes just a reality. If anything, it hurts Americans as they tend to only learn one language and have little reason to expand culturally by learning others. Oh and Canadians too.

If you heard most of those French speak english (by French, I mean those from France, and I'm sure some countries around it), you would understand why they prefer to say they can't speak it.

Here's an example: Somehow, their education system make them learn to pronounce "th" as a "z". Like "the" becomes for them "ze".

i could be wrong but the english (at east american english) is very open to new words and has very lax rules. so it is hard to say its racists when its so open.

The reason things are like that is because the vast majority of Internet users speak English and English only. When you speak another language on a website, there usually isn't a way to tell what is being said. Allowing that would be just as good as letting anyone say anything in any language.

edit: As for the traveling the world part, that one has a lot to do with globalization.  America is pretty much at the center of globalization, and globalization requires communication.  Since Americans aren't going to learn the languages of other countries, as it would be way too difficult to learn something like 30+ languages, they learn our language (English) instead.  Of course, America isn't the only one doing this.  Obviously England, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain all have their roles.
