The same as 3rd party exclusives on other consoles: timed exclusivity.

I know money, but it is getting rediculous. We already have to scrap and beg for third party scraps and now they take them away and cheapen them more or less.

They probably saw these numbers and cried a bit inside l0l

  Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS 2012 Action Capcom 0.20 0.14 0.30 0.03 0.67
1 Resident Evil 6 PS3 2012 Action Capcom 0.62 0.59 0.84 0.25 2.29
2 Resident Evil 6 X360 2012 Action Capcom 0.83 0.46 0.04 0.14 1.47

i dont think this is a good example as 600 people worked on RE6 and of course costs where higher then those of RE:R

To clarify my earlier post, full of allegorical bitterness as it was, i wouldn't have an issue with it but for the fact that it seems like games only flow in one direction: Nintendo -> Microsoft/Sony and never from either Microsoft/Sony -> Nintendo, with very rare exceptions like Modern Warfare, Ninja Gaiden 3, Mass Effect 3 (gimped) and Arkham City (appropriately enhanced for a year-late release).

If it seemed like the flow was more equitable, i would have less of a problem with it

Why do you think that is? Its not 3rd parties fault that Ninty decided to make an overclocked GC, and send it to markey while the other two, were making uber HD machines. Common sense would tell you that the Wii simply wasnt going to get alot of games simply becasue it just couldnt handle them, and dont say they could have made their own versions, because for the most part thats exactly what they did.  Now that Ninty has systems that have no problem running the games they couldnt for years, you are starting to see some of them crop up, so i dont see what your issue is.

That's all well and good, but what about now that Nintendo has the Wii U, which is much much closer in power to the other HD consoles? Yet third parties are still for the most part leaving Nintendo high and dry. The power gap thing I always felt was an excuse. If they can put some of these third party games on the freaking iphone, they could have put them on Wii.

The REAL reason Nintendo gets no support is because these developers are afraid to compete with Nintendo games, which tells you a little something about their quality right there, kinda shows the sad state the industry is in..

Doesnt tell me nothing, because YOUR "Real" reason is just your own speculation which you cant prove either way. I can prove that the Wii is weaker than the other two, becasue its a fact. Wii u is getting those games so I dont know where you are looking. AC3, ME3, Batman, CODBlops2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Tekken Tag 2, Darksiders 2, etc. All the games ive mentioned have never appeared on Wii in any shape or form sans COD, which ran like crap anyway. So tell me where are these games that are being left out? Its getting better support than Wii ever did and its only been out for 2 months. So a couple of games are not going to make it. So what, you would have to have been a damn fool to think that EVERY third party game was going to be released on Wii U, the Wii U is way to late to the party for that.

Why does it matter? 3rd Party Exclusives are few and far between for all of the big 3.

I think that's exactly why it matters to people.

I mean, I understand why it matters to a degree but lets face it, a timed exclusive is better than not getting a game at all.

Yeap, and this doesn't just go with Nintendo either. Other companies as well. As a MS fan I know all about "timed" exclusives.

It's just that simple.

Publishers want to make money. Dependent upon the game in question, sometimes it's necessary to port what was once an exclusive to a different platform.   It allows the game another chance at making a splash and possibly recouping some of the costs of development so they can keep making games.

Why does it matter how much the budget of the game is, the fact is that if the userbase is there - the sales will come. The Developer sees that and they decided that it was best if the game goes multiplatform. The same reason why FFXIII and RE6 went multiplatform - and lol at those who say FFXIII sold less units because it went multiplatform , that isnt true, it sold because it wasnt a game that everyone expected it to be.

lets say re6 budget 50 mil. earnings 100 mil.

re:r budget 10 mil. earnnings 100 mil.

this is an example of what i was trying to say

of course sales will come if it goes multi i know that but it still needs to sell an pretty amount that will payoff...you werent realy clear about what it was you were trying to say..now you are i guess :D
