How ever, I don't see this as a huge system seller. A projector costs, what, 300 bucks? That's way too expansive! It would be a cool feature for the 720 though. And I think we'll see a lot more of this in the 9th gen...

Yup looks great as a demo.
It won't work in my living room as I have a big window next to the tv, and paintings on the wall with glass frames. Nor do I have anywhere to put a projector in there.
I already have a projector in a dedicated room, but there I rather have it project onto a 92" screen instead of sticking a smaller tv in the middle. Plus the walls are dark in that room on purpose, to limit ambient light washing out darker details on the screen.
If you're going to spend money on a projector, wouldn't you want to use it for a big screen experience in the first place?
If you had the wall space and layout to use this it would be some potentially awesome tech

I have the same feeling although given the output doesn't have to exactly be sharp for this type of usage you could in theory have a very cheap projector for this application rather than our high quality home theater projectors. In that case it might only be good enough to hence a good TV experience. Its not for me in its current guise but its technically brilliant.

Few reasons I can think of :
1. Have a small room where a 50 inch Tv will suffice
2. Have a low end projector (720p) that wouldn't look so hot at 120 inches but does just fine as an extra FX generator
3. Don't have room to set up a projector with the screen in your house but have a book shelf in the back where a projector can sit and do its thing.
Come to think of it, this would be quite awesome in a small-ish room.
Wow, that's awesome. I suppose you'd need a room that is dark to enjoy this.

Not what I meant. I mean in the same room, local multiplayer. Not for playing games split screen but for one screen based multiplayer games or even just watching for entertainment. It would add a lot to party games.
With that said, imagine a game like Dyad on this melting your brains.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
