Forums - Sony - Can Wonderbook keep growing?

It's going to drop hard as the holiday ends, especially considering its targeted more towards a casual audience I think.

But I must say I am pleasantly surprised at its legs so far. It's had a great ride. It probably made some decent profit too.

I predict it'll die at around 500-700k, unless Sony pushes it hard next year. I don't see much appeal in it, but it seems to have potential. Maybe Sony can push it to a million seller. We'll see.

Sales will start dropping off now, it'll probably slowly make its way up2 750k-1m LTD

It's very hard to say and will depend on how Move works with the PS4, and beyond that, if they can land other significant kid-centric properties. Let's say that the PS4 launches next year and does support Move. If they can create another Wonderbook installment based on something popular then I could see it doing well next holiday season and even growing from there. Honestly, though, I wouldn't count on that, as Sony has a history of abandoning projects.

It surly can grow if they continue with wonderbook with PS4 ( Eye Toy Cam 2 ?). It truly has potential.

hard to say. book of spells was or still is bundled, had j.k. rowling on it and got a lot of advertisement (tv, special stuff in stores and they presented in on book fairs like the frankfurter buchmesse) so i'm not sure if other titles can sell better as book of spell will sell lifetime. i believe book of spells will sell decent a second or third christmas like many of those "christmas games" which means that it will get some more sales and with that it will be harder for the following games.

but if we would really see something like harry potter for it you could be right.

Not my kind of game but I wish it success.

No it's like all Kinect titles (with a few exceptions) a holiday centric game and will slow down quickly (will at least be 30k down (likely more since we haven't got Others sales yet) this week).
Definitely won't be able to outsell Sports Champions or Eyepet, which makes it a decent selling game but not a hardware mover.

To all the people thinking this will grow. Did Sports Champions 2 grow ? No. In fact it hasn't been on any charts even though it's been available for months and we don't even track it.

I think it sold fine but not enough to justify the J.k. Rowling and Harry Potter license fees which I'm sure were quite steep given the success of J.K. Rowling and her books and films

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

You may have a point but Sony didn't promote Sports Champions itself...they used it as a sort of tech demo for PS Move.(as it was bundled in America)

This isn't a Harry Potter game so there is no Harry Potter license fee.
