Great thread. Make sure to keep it updated.
I'm actually surprised at how "well" the Wii U is doing! My whole life is a lie!

Updated. WiiU detaches itself from Wii now visibly and has more or less the momentum of PS360.

The launch was good. But first week into the new year it sells the same as PS3 and X360 did back in their respective first year. To be precise: less than PS3 and more than X360 on first week. As X360 was going up into second week (what sorcery is that), expect WiiU to follow the red line for the next weeks.

I'm really excited to see how this Holiday goes. Both of Nintendo's new consoles are out and the 3DS is getting some killer games this year.
*Shrieks in excitement.*

Should be really good for 3DS (and I happy I get Fire Emblem and new Pokemon). And it should be interesting for the home-console-race of this gen (I expect PS4 and 720 this year). And it should be deciding for the future of Vita.
Very interesting to see. It would be fun if you also included a graph for "the overall console market" that aligned sales per console by year from 2005 to now. Make it an additive area chart so we can see total market sales of cumulative platforms to see the rise/fall/??? of the console market from 2005 to now.

I would love to see a regional breakdown if you ever have the time or inclination.

Whatever, the next-gen starts as the next-gen-console of the brand of your liking is launched, I see. I don't care, you can clearly see which gen I compare it with, whatever you call it.
