Hey!

So people talk about this game A LOT here, dafuq is it? Should I get it as in do you think I will like it?

If you could describe it in one word what would it be?

And what other game is similar in terms of genre?

What do you do in the game?

TELL ME EVERYTHING

Also: Kuni means "boy who gives ass" in persian (insult basically).

How about using google instead of wasting our time with pointless threads ?

Literally it means Two Countries.

I think the better translation is Second Country.

If they are playing of the success of the movies from Studio Gibli, I think that's a mistake. Most of those movies are nice to watch for 2 hours, I don't think I can sit there it try to finish a kid's story for more than that. Some of you may flame me for this, but when I play video games, and I find myself questioning the rational taught of the characters, their actions, vague plot, or anything that doesn't seem very well tied together, it sort of annoys me.

The anime industry in Japan right now has killed my love for the genre. I used to love the creative freedom and wonderful story plots in the past. Now I can only see cookie cutter character designs & plots that they dish out as a business model. I can almost compare it to the first person shooter video game genre, and how the industry keeps pumping out more of the same formula for profits.

I don't really know how entertaining the story/gameplay of this video game will be, but I'm skeptical it will have a deep story that will fully engage a 32 year old man--me. I'll download the demo and see if my low expectations bear fruit or not. Either way, it's a win, win.

One of the best looking games ever that should totally be a Nintendo exclusive. (Yeah, I'm jealous, what of it?!)

Anywho... It's made by the people who did Totoro, Spirited Away, etc. Aka, Studio Ghibli. It's a cell-shaded looking game that's based off of the original title on the DS.

Edit: Forgot Level 5. It's made by them too.

You should just get yourself a PS3 already. :) No shame in playing non-Nintendo consoles.

I'm not going to get myself a PS3 as we already have one in my house, it's my brother's. (That and I have no money currently. It's not like I have a job...)

The one time I bought a PS3 game (FFXIII) I never finished because my brother is jerk (most of the time) and never let me play even though he said he would... So yeah. That is mah story.

Enchanting.

Which is a word that gets used often with Studio Ghibli films. For homework, go watch Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, or Whisper of the Heart. Some of the best movies I've ever seen, animated or otherwise. Ghibli films aren't just about magic and friendship, either, as they often deal with loss, tragedy, and personal growth. You might have heard of Grave of the Fireflies, which will just break your heart into tiny pieces.

Ghibli's not involved with the story though. It's all Level 5.

Also binary the games were not announced simultaneously. The DS version was announced first then the PS3 version was announced later.

You may be right. I heard about both versions at the same time and this was before the DS version was launched. In any case it's more correct to consider this a timed exclusive sort of thing rather than a remake.

Demo was all right. I'm not a big fan of text heavy dialogue. I realise it's kind of a tradition thing, but really it's a throwback to a time when there wasn't space on cartriges / discs to include a lot of voice data as well as all the other essential stuff. I'm not sure the demo really gives the best feel for the game because it didn't give me a sense of the scale and depth of the world and the story.

I think you're right.

They said they are working on a "console" version, but didn't specify which until later (most thought it'll be a Wii game at that time)
