Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: There are lots of fantastic Wii U games to come in 2013

Also, it's weird seeing Nintendo trying to hype their own E3 presentation, since last year they deliberately sabotaged it. They could have had an amazing E3 conference, but instead they saved most of their major announcements for a Nintendo Direct delivered a couple of weeks later.

Don't confuse ineptetitude with malice!

I'm still waiting for them to announce the Collectors edition the PS3 & 360 are getting. I'll get it on WiiU no matter what, but want that collectors edition!

What are the extras in the collectors edition?

Off the Amazon website -

High Quality Powerloader Figurine in Limited Edition Xeno Hive Box

Limited Edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines

  • Four Playable Movie Characters
  • Players will be able to fight for their squad’s survival and confront hordes of enemies as the original ALIENS film icons Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone.

Additional Marines Character Customization Options

Ripley’s Flamethrower

Exclusive Multiplayer Weapons

  • Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers
  • Phase Plasma Rifle

Exclusive Game Level

  • USCM Academy Firing Range

USCM Dossier

  • Mission Brief
  • USS Sephora Schematic
  • Recruitment Card
  • LV-426 Recon Photo
  • USCM Iron-on Badges
  • USCM Graduation Certificate

I'm a huge Aliens fan so this is awesome to me!

Damn that sounds pretty impressive. Lets hope the WiiU gets it too. If they do I'll definatley get it.

Besides MH3 Ultimate there is nothing else in 2013 I'm interested in. I'll probably still get a WiiU this year anyway solely because of MH3 and for future 1st party games (2-D/3-D Metroid, Zelda, 3-D Mario). O and I hope Monster Hunter sells well because a port of MH4 might rely on its success. So everyone with a WiiU needs to go out and pick it up you won't regret it!

I'm not totally sure that last years E3 was exactly "great."

I hope they deliver this year!

Yeah, Nintendo Land was really the focus of their show, and it's not the type of game to wow your hardcore gaming crowd looking to be dazzled.  Oh, and don't forget the 20 minutes spent on the year-old port of Arkham City! lol

Smash bros trailer be there along with virtual console announcements for wiiu(those should come sooner though)

Exactly. Those two games were fine but they didn't need to take up the whole show. I would've liked to see more Pikmin and more of that awesome looking Lego game.

Exactly.

By the way, what the hell happened to their marketing?...compared to their efforts in promoting the Wii November/December 2006 and 2007, their marketing for the Wii U seems weak.

I mean, by default it´s already a product that´s harder to market than the Wii was, but still..

With Arkham City, i believe the effort was there to show what was acknowledged as one of the greatest experiences on PS360 and show how the Wii U could make it better.

You have to remember that E3 is a trade show, first and foremost. We, collectively, are E3's peripheral audience. It is more about the companies talking to each other, and talking to the mainstream media (as E3's usually the only time of year the mainstream media gives gaming any real attention).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nintendo rushed the WiiU release and as a consequence there already is a huge software drought in its first 1,5 year.

Is there any foundation for saying this. Like, at all?
