I had this idea a week ago, and I can't get it out of my mind.
This is what Kitt's voice - the car from the classic Knight Rider series, and Hal 9000, the computer from 2001: A Space Odyssey look like.
Now, imagine them on the screen of your GamePad - talking to you.
The GamePad offers you a 2nd Screen. It also offers you built-in speakers capable of playing distinct sound from that of the game, or Television.
Now let's put those together and give your GamePad a voice, an identity. I'm not saying I want Nintendo to provide a full-blown voice-recognition system to enable full-blown conversations. That can be the GamePad in about 3-5 years.
But do you know how cool it would be if, as I'm playing a game, or simply using any of the Wii U's features, Kitt...or Morgan Freeman's voice...Sean Connery...James Earl Jones, were giving me notifications, telling me things, commenting on my play???
Imagine you see a Wii U commercial on T.V. And all you see - is the GamePad, with the eye from Hal 9000, and it's talking to you. The way I'm envisioning it, this would be the one, killer-app, that single-handedly sells the console to the masses.
Hey Indie Dev's - if you happen to read this, get crackin', you'll make millions. You're welcome.
