PS3 launch did not go as well as expected, it was also a terrible launch. But ps3 numbers should be counted as launch aligned, which for some reason everyone on this site is not doing."

That's because in 2006 when ps3 launched, there wasn't a single soul that thought ps3 would stay behind for long. I remember seeing predictions that it would be ahead by the end of '07. There wasn't a sony fan that thought that year ahead meant anything.

Based on that it will be far better able to compete later in the gen than the Wii ever was, since it won't be a generation behind in tech.

We'll just have to wait and see. First how the PS4/X720 will launch, second how the rest of the gen plays out.
