honestly for about 2 years i have thought that the downfall of CoD will start next gen, i say this because with new consoles people want something new, something that will make them go "WOW", and CoD does not do that, even if they updated the graphics a bit it still wont do wonders, considering how bad black ops 2 looks ( it honestly is the worst looking game i played on my ps3 after black ops) i doubt treyarch will be able to make something interesting when it comes to graphics. but what im trying to say is as you said, CoD is now stale and i think that will hurt it when it comes new consoles

you should make a thread about it, honestly i wanted to for a while but their are so many threads i want to make but for some reason never do

That is true, it has become very stale and people will be looking for something new.  Its hard to tell with all of the social and casual scrowd who gets it too.  They may not want to get a new console for a new Call of Duty.  

Yeah I'll make a thread about this later.  I'm getting ready to head home and take Finals so it may not be up for a while but I will make one

Maybe he will show his talent now in a Genre that actually takes more than bald space marines and blood to work.

Would love to see him creating a game that actually has a great story(no kids - Gears of War doesn't have a good story...Neither does Twilight and Justin Bieber isn't a good song writer).

Will be interesting to see what engine he will use too.
Unreal Engine 4 cause he knows how to work with it and is probably the only one who could directly push out a big game with it or does he want to try something new.
Important thing is if he wants to try something new is that he goes Multiplat and is probably even favoring the Sony Platform(PS3 or PS4) cause this is the console where new projects,especially if he maybe is trying a new genre,will sell.

First off good luck to Cliffy B. on your new venture , congrats on the marriage.
Epic owns the Gears of War IP, MS only own Publishing rights .
Also if MS did buy EPIC games & UE3,UE4 why invest all that money to go Exclusive with the Engine when they can benefit from the license fee that it brings .

If they did buy Epic they get People Can Fly, Epic Baltimore studio,Chair Entertainment, Yingpei Games (formerly Epic Games China),Epic Games Japan,Epic Games Korea, would own Bullet-storm, Shadow Complex, Fortnight, UR Tournament ,Infinity Blade 1 & 2 plus a few others games . that would be one hell of a buy & pick up for MS .

Cliff is easily one of the greatest developers in the industry. Can't wait to see what his new IP will be like

He's been saying for years he wants to do a survival horror game. That would be awesome if that's what his new franchise is

lol well I have a desk job and it gets boring here.  So my choices are vgchartz, facebook, and texting.  Texting is too obvious so I venture between the two lol  Ill be finished in another 2 years :) unless I decide to go for my masters.

lool i post about 80% of my posts when im at work so dont think im judging or anything :P, well good luck with your masters if you decid to take it, personally i hate studying and found a job in my field, so for me masters can go screw its self :)

I'm sorry guys, I was wrong.  Gears is not owned by MSFT.  They however have a great relation ship with MSFT and Gears is paid out by MSFT.  I apologize.  I looked it up. Reins said in 2010 that it isn't owned by MSFT, it's just a publisher deal like you said.  

EDIT: This is what was said.

 Capps also stated unequivocally that the Gears IP belongs to Epic, and that it's their call which platform they release on, but that Microsoft has kept them happy in the past. "Time and time again, when it came down to figure out what we do next with Gears, we sat down with Microsoft and they've given us really good, compelling reasons to work with them again."

Excellent news.

The man is a great developer, and the sameness of Gears of War was holding him back. I'm glad he's staying in active game development and making something new.
