Sega franchises are now dead other then Total War, which isn't console friendly, Yakuza, which is on the PS3 as it is, and Football Manager, which again isn't console friendly. It would be a complete waste of time buying them.
It makes more sense for Sony than for Nintendo, to be honest. That would nail down the Project Diva, Yakuza, and Phantasy Star franchises for Sony devices. Maybe we could get some Altered Beast action!
But as developers, Sega probably isn't worth the asking price.

Well, going by this generation I would hope Sony get SEGA's IPs. They are the ones who not only release their hardware as region-free, but they have a great track record of localizing titles.
Plus they could add Sonic to PSASBR.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

I would really like to see this, but I don't see what either would gain.

Segas biggest franchises are on Sony platforms, it would make the most sense indeed.

Yes!

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Then it makes 0 sense because Sony allready gets free milk. No point in buying the cow.

@OP. I think Sega would be a good snag for either of the big 3 (or 4+ soon, who knows). They have a slew of IPs, so their potential can't be numbered. |
i can number it in the millions of dollars: $0.00
at the moment i don't think anyone should touch sega as it would surely lead to losses. but if anyone were to i'd hope they go to nintendo. i think nintendo is the only one out there with the skill set to turn sonic back into a good franchise.

Try Sonic Generations if you haven't. It's enjoyable. There's probs much more potential to the franchise, but I kind of like it's current form, it's defo a step ahead of what it once was (Generation gives you both to easily compare).
