It was widely reported in the media. Its called free press. But 2007 was considered by many to be 360s golden year. People just thought it was justified to get the games, even if their console was at risk, over a PS3. And I think its that scenerio that freaks you out...that gamers legitimately wanted a 360 over PS3 knowing its faults.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I am sorry but the fail rate of over 50% is something that will forever stay with the 360.

Yet despite that it still managed to have more lifetime sales then the former #1 brand in gaming for the past 2 generations.....

People prefer faulty hardware to a functional PS3.....that in itself says something.

Oh, but they only managed to stay a head of Sony BECAUSE of RROD; it forced people to buy new hardware and thus staying a head of PS3 ^^

So 360 was so awesome that people were willing to buy another one? Thanks for your input.


Its not even right to joke about that, even sarcastically. I know people who are on their tenth 360 because they are such big fans of Gears or Halo or they are just dependent on it because all their friends are on it. Microsoft better hope that trend sticks because my friends know better now.

Hardware is just about motherboards?

Once again... I'm talking about build quality, user experience.  The current PS3 is frankly pretty cheap, cheap plastics and some flimsy mechanisms. Not a criticism, just an observation.


PS3 has not had to have their chips replaced as many times as the 360 and the overheating of the old 360's was a massive problem. People had to suffocate their 360s with towels and risk their warranties to keep them on life support.

I can talk about it, I had RROD myself, during a Halo Wars online match. Will never forget it.

But tis true. The lure is just too good that you just come back. That speaks volumes on how good MS handled 360 this gen.

Does it break, over heat, scratch your discs, make noise, burn or demand more power ? No.

All the gaming media were reporting was how awesome MS was with their warranty and tried to make it sound like the competiton had similar problems with the so called YOLD.

Man, that's some pretty stupid friends... Don't wanna be disrespectful or anything, but if my console broke down that many times I'd NEVER go back to that fucking companies products.

2014 seems okay ... it would be too early for sony and microsoft to launch their new consoles in 2013 since they will announce them this year (propably 2. quartal) they don't have enough time to market them well...

since the new gen has already started with the wii u I hope that sony and microsoft don't delay their consoles... giving nintendo a head start of 1 years (+ 2-3 months) is tolerable...

very excited for these consoles...can't wait till e3 !!!
