The only console maker with a perfect record for reliability is Nintendo.

Nope. No one has a  "perfect" record. I know my N64's reset button was stuck. The analog stick also sucked ass(as in most of my controllers broke at some point).
Every single console has had its share of problems. Nothing compares to RROD though. Microsoft will probably hold that records forever.

You can actually get ball type analoge sticks for N64 controllers now, similar to GCN.

Only thing I dont know is how accurate it is, as obviously the design is different

e.g when I played zelda OOT on N64 vs gcn version I felt liek the controls were designed to wrk with the original stick. The ball stick in the gcn felt liek it wasn tas accurate when moving around. COuld be just my imagination though lol.

I dont' have the N64 anymore and I certainly wouldn't buy anything for it. It's 2012...
but that wuld have been a great thing way back then.

Not sure if stated already but this is good news, painfully low yields mean that they are aiming high in terms of die shrinks which means high performance.

That chip manufacturing rumor from Semiaccurate was from over 3 months ago. And even they stated the problems could be worked out in time. They said the problems would have to be worked out by February 2013 to meet the supposed September 2013 release date.

So the rumor is ... well, a rumor AND it's horribly outdated. Nothing to see here...

......Off topic, but I simply must know where that dancing Sig about Haters is from lol.

well I figured you may have kept it to play some old games every now and then,

But yer I wish that ball stick came out much earlier, even straight after gcn launched would have been nice.

Lol, the initial commercial for Surface.  Those schoolgirls were the highlight imo.

I found out that a couple of them are part of a dance troupe from the comments in the Youtube vid of the schoolkid extended version.  That explains a lot, especially for the one named Jade as she's gettin' down!

Those are pretty bad ass. One thing can assuredly be said about Microsoft, they make some awesome ads. Their Marketing machine is definitely nothing to trifle with, as they could sell a wings to a bird. Thats something Sony needs to seriously work on. That commercial is perfect in many ways. Some will argue its not so good on the merit it doesn't really demonstrate much of what the object can do. Yet it does just enough of that to not completely waste one's time, and it does it all in a unique and fun way to watch. Obscure commercials like this are effective because consumers start to feel apathy when seeing those kids dance, it gets them excited and the fact the surface was there during this brief moment of excitement confuses the senses and causes one to associate it with that feeling. Watching it, for a brief moment I wanted a surface. That is what Sony's marketing efforts are lacking these days. The KB ads were effective for a similar reason. The spokesperson was so cocky and fun, which makes consumers associate the same with the product.
