This thread is like an opening skirmish in the great Fanboy Wars of the PS4/720 theater. I kind of envy the Nintendo soldiers, as they will already have their positions secured and will likely miss a lot of the initial battling for position.

Is pretty easy, there is nothing interesing to me in PS3.

I don't like Metal Gear, I don't like Gran Turismo, I don't like Killzone, I don't like Untarched, I don't like God of War, I don't like inFamous, I don't like Resistance.

(Note: "like" is the key word. I'm not saying that those are bad games in any way[they are good games], just that they aren't my thing)

I also dislike the PSN, the layout of the playstation controller...

To put it simple, even if you gifted me a PS3, there are only 2 outcomes: I would sold it to buy games for my 360, or I would use it as a bluray player...

And, no, isn't logical... I have a friend who liked all the games above, but disliked games as Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable, etc. And he had a 360! (He always complained of course, and no-one was ever able to understand why he bought the 360... price perhaps?)

I have 3, 2 have never had any issue (both HDMI models) and a 2006 that RROD in 2009 and was fixed under warranty and has been fine ever since.  If you've had more than 3 failures you need to start looking at environmental contributing factors (hot/cold temperatures, lack of circulation, misuse).  Of course a lot of these horror stories are people buying second hand too thinking the console was unreliable so try and get it cheaper which puts them at a higher risk of failure also.  If you've had 5 360's fail then you're misusing them imo.

That's exactly how i feel about the Xbox but i actually "like" Gears Of War though..

If the new consoles come out on 2014, then the Wii U will have a year and a half sales advantage with 2 christmas. I dont think the others can catch up with that much of a head start.
Thus i have trouble believing this news...

I never got compensated and I was a launch PS1 buyer... Mine overheated like most PS1 launch consoles... I had to pay 75 dollars out of pocket to get a new PS1 that didn't overheat (I was even flipping my launch PS1 upside to avoid overheating/freeze issues which eventually that didn't work).  The launch PS1/2 consoles were riddled with reliability issues.  After hearing that early PS2 consoles had DVD problems I was happy that I swore off buying from Sony since the PS1 era.  If I went through the RROD problems on 360 I would not be a Micrsoft consumer (even though I would never be).

I'd say the later the release, the better the hardware. That way the machines can be perfected and have no defects, and I know that's something both companies want to do later on. I'm not biased towards any of them, but I would really appreciate it if Microsoft takes their time with the hardware to ensure that there are no faults in the system. Same with Sony (YLOD defect with PS3). I know that when and if the consoles are released earlier, it's good for sales. Still, it's better to take the time to make good hardware and not rush things. That would be a smart business move as well, at least I'm honest about that.
