November 2014 is te best time for the new gen but that's just my opinion... so I'm rooting for delays.


This generation has already been the longest that we've seen and due to this you are starting to see software decline and stagnate.  New IPs are kind of doomed at this stage of life of the consoles.  People are ready to move on, maybe not you and others, but many are ready.  The early adopters are the ones Im talking about.

I hope for Sony that those rumors are not true.

If Msoft planned to start mass producing the chips by now, then its launch would have been at worst Q4 2013, but more likely mid-2013 (otherwise why would they have started the mass production now, to leave them waiting in a warehouse?). With the delays, a late 2013 release seems more likely.

So is those rumors are true, Sony could be 6 or maybe even 12 months late compared to Msoft. If that happens they can say goodbye to NA, and maybe even the UK.

Btw, does anyone know if GloFo has moved to 28nm yet? I'm asking because its AMD CPUs and APUs are still 32nm much to their dismay, and those rumors say that Sony's chips will be made there using 28nm.

A new thing that will generate constant sales cause everyone has to buy like 2 consoles per year.
Only reasons the 360 did so good > The RROD combined with Halo,CoD and Banwaves.
Probably a good way of thinking from Microsoft - They have seen they can do this without a big community and now they will just do it again...Bring consoles that will die so everyone has to buy more than one piece.

2014 would be to late.
PCs are so far ahead and Next Gen Console will be even more outdated if they bring the specs that are probably now final(only M$ and Sony know them but they won't change much anymore) in 2014.
We need new consoles and the market needs them too.PS3 Exclusives still push somehow the console limits but even they are no where near the possibilities of PCs.

The site suggests PS4 will launch Spring or Autumn 2014.

The name of the PS4 project is Thebes. As you might have guessed, other than it being an AMD CPU and GPU, we don’t have much more specific details. It is said to be a 28nm part, likely fabbed at Global Foundries or IBM for the first run, and out after Oban. That would most likely be the spring of 2014, but it could be fall of that year too.

I don't like the CPU + GPU together from AMD... seems too weak. But I like the 28nm talk .

Microsoft wouldnt make that massive mistake twice.

Are you sure? A Microsoft employee(dont' know which one) stated that their decision to launch first and all those troubles was worth it as it gave them several advantages. 

I just don't see how anyone can buy the next-gen Xbox with confidence.

I could see PS4 launching December 2013 in Japan though. Just like Vita.
