Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Launch Sales for Japan (Console/Handheld Comparisons Inside!)

Decent numbers, but again, far too early to tell..

Though with 2D Mario, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, and no PS4 in sight, I think it's safe to say Japan is about to become Wii U country, at least for a couple of years when Sony brings their new console out to try and catch up.

Pretty good debut for the Wii U. The couple of places I've checked out since release have been pretty much sold out. I saw one place that had a Basic Wii U in stock on Sunday, Premiums/MH3 bundles were sold out and Basic was sold out as well except for that one place.

I had a Premium Wii U reserved, but I ended up not picking it up (they held it for 2 days.) I bought a new laptop (11" Macbook Air) about a week or so ago, so I decided to forgo the Wii U for now. My 360 and 3DS are keeping me occupied at the moment, so I can wait until sometime next year for one.

So, was there a Nintendo Land Bundle in japan?

Worth noting Wii Sports was NOT bundled in Japan.

Assuming there was, the figures look spot on even software wise as far as the Wii is concerned.

No.  The only bundle they had was MH3U.

So

A) How prevelent was it.

B) Did they count those budnles in MH3U sales?

No idea on either account.

That's an unknown, but Famitsu don't track bundled games (I don't believe) or they count them seperately...

I think they were about a prevelent as the ZombiU bundle over here. As in, a fair few but far from a majority.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

.

It sold less than PSV FW, but PSV launched even later in December, so its Japan sales at the end of 2013 could end up being maybe up to one million higher than PSV ones at the end of 2012. Other regions aren't easily comparable, some launches were during spring, others during Q4, but far earlier.
