Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Japan Launch a Success

All I got from that article is that a whole of 80 people lined up... is there anything more substantial said elsewhere?

Edit: Saw the 300 number....

The Degenki had 30 people lining at Shinjuku's Yodobashi Camera and about 100 at Akihabara's Yodobashi Camera (the letter being easily the biggest electronics store in Tokyo). This is hardly a success.

How about we wait for the Media-Create report before jumping the gun? It's only two days...

.

The real battle in Japan is WiiU vs 3DS.

As expected. The gamepad is somewhat similar to a handheld, plus Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest...yeah, the system will probably do great and I expect Japanese support to be very good.As far as Western support goes, it´s all about Xbox/PS/PC, and will probably remain that way once the next Xbox and PS are released (maybe with the exception of Ubisoft, since they seem willing to support everything)

Momentum in Japan is badly needed for Nintendo.

I wonder if a great launch will impact the PS3 like 3DS did to PSP.

I LOVE ICELAND!

"analyst at Mizuho Investors Securities Co., commented that demand for the Wii U is exceeding supply, so the main obstacle at this point is how fast Nintendo can manufacture consoles."
Japan looking good.
