for those talking about Halo, you can thank Goldeneye for paving the way for it.

Exactly.  Halo is Goldeneye with regenerating health and vehicles.

And none akward controls, and enemies with actual intelligence, and better more varied multiplayer, and coop, goes on and on. The only reason GoldenEye is remembered fondly was because it was the first time a console fps wasn't complete garbage, which is why everyone remembers it so fondly. It was like holy crap fps games can be fun with a controller.

Regardless N64 still wins. Its 1 classic vs 10. Plus Ocarina of Time is unarguably the most critically acclaimed title of all time, and one of my favorites.

Halo is too good for you. You don't deserve it.

Go sit in the corner.

Please, Halo is nothing more than a prettier looking tribes without the jetpacks.

On topic, I personally think this is like comparing apples and oranges.

Purely on games then N64

On overall features XBOX.

Both provided different types of satisfaction.

Tribes is nothing by multiplayer. Halo is much MUCH more.

Sorry I have played both and if you have the right MODS (this is one good thing with PCs) it shits all over halo.

I can't believe all the bashing about the n64 controller - I have two that I had since 1997 and both are still in perfect working order an have been played every year since then!!

It was the first implemented stick on a console controller though outside of the known joystick. It had its quirks but it was the first way we got into it.

I have a gaming PC so I don't need you to tell me how great PC gaming is. No mod can convert Tribes into having a single player mode. I played tribes back in the day, before I ever played Halo. When I was first exposed to Halo I never looked back. Tribes is still fun, but Halo keeps me coming back again and again.

The tribes games were and are fun fast multiplayer shooters, but that's it. Halo is much more than just an e-sport. The only Tribes with a storyline was Tribes: Vengeance and Halo and it's sequels shit on it's single player campaign.

sorry when you wrote by multiplayer, I assumed you mean the multiplayer lacked. Now that I read your response I assume you meant nothing BUT multiplayer.

Agreed about single person story though.

I don't mean to insult any people who love the Xbox, but this really isn't a fair comparison.

N64 pretty much blows Xbox out of the water.

N64 had GoldenEye 007; Perfect Dark; The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask; Banjo-Kazooie; Banjo-Tooie; Donkey Kong 64; Diddy Kong Racing; Super Mario 64; Excitebike 64; Jet Force Gemini; Rogue Squadron; Blast Corps; Body Harvest; 1080 Snowboarding; World Driver Championship; etc.

Xbox had Halo, Halo 2, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Fable, Far Cry Instincts, plus many more multi-platform games that looked and played great on the Xbox. But the software library just doesn't compare. Halo alone gives Xbox a fighting chance -- I still consider it the best game of the 21st century -- but in terms of depth and variety, N64 wins.

I owned both, but easily, N64 was better. I only played Halo on my xbox and a couple other games, but N64 had so many awesome games - Mario Kart, Super Mario, Smash Bros, Paper Mario, Diddy Kong Racing etc. Sometimes, I still play N64 and it works perfectly despite it being 14 years old.
