I have wanted a PSP (or maybe a Vita) for a while now, mostly to play my PS1 classics on the road and to play a few PSP games that I missed out on last gen.  I could never justify purchasing another hand held though, what with my tablet and my 3DS covering my hand held needs very well.

I was talking to a friend of a friend yesterday that wanted to sell his PSP, and after some haggling I got his PSP 1000 (with a high capacity battery) and Final Fantasy 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Castlevania Dracula X, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for 40 bucks!  I couldn't turn down a deal like that!  So, what must have games do I need to go add to my collection?  My prefered generes, especially on handhelds, are RPGs, Platformers (especially 2D), and I also quite enjoy Hack N' Slash and sports games.   I'm not a fan of GTA style sand box games, FPS, and realistic racing games.  I will also play anything that can even somewhat be described as a "Metroidvania."

Get the god of war games dont know any hack n slash games that's on the same level. Also Tekken 5 is a very addictive fighting game. The Ys game are good rpg/action games. Get Monster Hunter Portable 2 cause god knows if Capcom will release part 3 to the west or God Eater cause it has style.

Best game and JRPG on psp.

Was cleaning out my closet today. Found my PSP 3000 in my closet. I was kinda surprised how small it was--way smaller and cooler looking than I remember. You did good, man. You did good.

The Legend of Heroes games, Tactics Ogre, Lunar, the other random stuff that I have no idea what they're called. Take a look on PSN, there's a bunch. Stuff like Hexyx Force, Growlancer, Ys, God Eater, etc.

I suggest you get Persona 3 Portable, Kingdom Hearts and Jeanne D'Arc

Being on a budget makes spending a guilty pleasure

that is an amazing steal for 40dollars. go go get some good headphones and buy Every Extend Extra and Lumines 2 should be able to find both for about $10 and you are sorted for rhythm / puzzle bomb games :)
