Forums - Gaming - Why doesn't Microsoft release a portable gaming device like this?

haha not what I expected.

Cause they are not Sega and they don't have the balls to release nuclear powered massive portable devices.

They can't make this...

I dont know.....it should be bigger

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Good question.

Going by recent releases it's not like the competition cares about pocket sizes anyway. Not to mention the iPads that people are carrying around...

Needs a bigger screen...

4 ≈ One

Man I could see myself putting that in my pocked and going everywhere with it :P

Honestly though microsoft would not do well in the handheld market. They have a few IP's that would work well in the handheld market like banjo, kameo, viva pinata, etc but over all Nintendo dominates that market. Sony has taken the very small portion that is left so anybody who enters now will more than likely get crushed

halo on handheld would be pretty awesome! However, I think microsoft is smart to stay out of the portable market. There isn't a lot of long term potential in the handheld market with smartphones becoming so prominent.

Microsoft should focus on growing their smartphone marketshare, which is pretty sad at the moment...

Personally, I think a hybrid of the two would still work if done right.

A portal with a slide screen that doubles as a mobile phone capable of playing any existing Xbox 360 game I think would do really well.  Not only that but if they Xbox 360 and it were a 1:1, it'd help keep development on the Xbox 360 going.  Then about mid-life for Xbox 8 come out with a version of it compatible with Xbox 8.
