Problem? There is no problem...Relax a little. I'm just disagreeing with you; I'm not threatening to burn your house down.
Smart phones can't play blurays or Call of Duty. Also smart phones cost a lost more then most consoles making your argument that consoles do less wrong on both accounts - they both do different things and consoles are relatively cheap.
Bluray has been doing fine on the market. Considering developing counties won't have bluray players it seems redundant to claim that bluray vs dvd is at all a reasonable point to make - bluray sales are completely fine.
£150 for me is more then affordable; it's down-right cheap. If people are happy to blow £350 on a phone, then I don't think anyone is going to flintch at a console costing £150. So saying that the reason why a lot of people don't have one is the price seems completely wrong if you factor in realism e.g. 99% of people from the Congo won't ever be able to afford one.

Well the 360 price drop didnt kick in until the later half of 2012. Now it seems Sony is jumping on what MS is doing over there.

Yeap... the price drop (40%) made the 360 reach 65% of the market share in August 2012 before in early 2012 the 360 have less than 10% of the market share for the month... I expect some big jump for PS3 too in mid 2012.

Not sure about that, but I believe he predicted something like 250 million total sales for Wii. In all fairness, this was the golden era of Wii where the sales were on fire (07-08) but still absurd prediction even with that context. With regards to topic: Absoulte best case scenario for my money puts the PS3 at about 95 million units sold while Wii trickles to only around 103 million. Even for that to happen, A LOT has to go right for Sony and wrong for Nintendo. PS3's numbers have to hold up very well during its 7th,8th, and 9th years which history has shown is never the case. Even the PS2 started a pretty significant slide during those years. This also assumes no price drop for Wii, which obviously won't be the case. I think more realistically it will be PS3 - 90 million, and Wii - 105 million. The other possible scenario is Sony riding out the PS3 for 4 or 5 more years without releasing the PS4 until 2015 or so. Then MAYBE PS3 could eventually catch Wii as Sony would not have the burden of a successor console cutting off its life like Nintendo currently does with Wii U. However, if Sony does go this route, they will all but concede next generation to Nintendo anyway, as the WiiU would hold a 25-30 million head start right out the gate when they finally release PS4. I don't think Sony would save their past just to sacrifice their future like that. The fact that anyone still actually believes PS3 will outsell Wii at this point is laughably absurd and blows my mind. |
Well it's a good analysis, but the rate at how it's selling currently easily puts it soaring past 95 by 2015, even with PS4 bringing a slight decline in its sales around the period.

Again I hope to have the same "luck" lol. So what is my prediction? Many factors should help this number happen like: PS3 price cuts ($199, $149 and $99), bundles and deals, big games, etc... it's probable and I think that will happen. For reference I'll make a table for each region using the yearly numbers and fits it with my prediction numbers. 1. WORLDWIDE (SHIPPED DATA)

I don't think this has any chance of happening. I mean the small declines and numbers you're predicting seem like wishful thinking. Over 10 million consoles in 2014? 7.4 million in 2015?

I used some late PS2 numbers and did some math drop to get my numbers... eg. the PS2 sold over 10 million in the 9th year.
2012/2013: Vgchartz:
"Never ever" "Ava Controll for 2 weeks etho! This won´t happen haha"
2022: Sony: The PS3 has reached a milestone!!!!
It has sold over 115. million!
Take that Wii
Vgchartz: *ethomaz gets ava controll for the whole Vgchartz community* "All hail Sony" Random Nintendo user: "No I don´t want Kratos in my ava" Etho: "You get what you deserve!"
Meanwhile on other gaming forums:
" PS3? The Blue Ray Player?"
"No the microwave!"
"Sony has made a microwave? Every day you learn something new!"
" Oh well I thought that was this radiator... My PS5 is THE thing."
So ethomaz will be a legend?
* no offense
