In 2012 360 just sold more than PS3 because that fact... now it's again PS3 time because the PS3 is actually manufacture with a 30% price drop (the drop will happen soon).

What's your problem? Seriously? Smart phones are portable devices that have plenty of multimedia functions including the ability to place calls, the most important of all. The PS3 is a dedicated gaming console that sits in the living room. It can also play Blu-Rays, a proprietary media format that has failed to overtake the DVD. How do you fail to understand that smartphones offer far more and as a result are seem by consumers as a more valuable product? Also, don't pretend to know me or understand my motivations, the PS3 was my main console until I got back into PC gaming and I would love an affordable PS3 with B/C. Without B/C, the PS3 simply isn't worth the asking price and I'm hardly alone on this matter. Finally, stop comparing dedicated gaming systems to smart phones. Not sure about that, but I believe he predicted something like 250 million total sales for Wii. In all fairness, this was the golden era of Wii where the sales were on fire (07-08) but still absurd prediction even with that context.

With regards to topic:

Absoulte best case scenario for my money puts the PS3 at about 95 million units sold while Wii trickles to only around 103 million. Even for that to happen, A LOT has to go right for Sony and wrong for Nintendo. PS3's numbers have to hold up very well during its 7th,8th, and 9th years which history has shown is never the case. Even the PS2 started a pretty significant slide during those years. This also assumes no price drop for Wii, which obviously won't be the case. I think more realistically it will be PS3 - 90 million, and Wii - 105 million.

The other possible scenario is Sony riding out the PS3 for 4 or 5 more years without releasing the PS4 until 2015 or so. Then MAYBE PS3 could eventually catch Wii as Sony would not have the burden of a successor console cutting off its life like Nintendo currently does with Wii U. However, if Sony does go this route, they will all but concede next generation to Nintendo anyway, as the WiiU would hold a 25-30 million head start right out the gate when they finally release PS4. I don't think Sony would save their past just to sacrifice their future like that.

The fact that anyone still actually believes PS3 will outsell Wii at this point is laughably absurd and blows my mind.

That's my second big prediction in VGChartz using the the same model of the most famous and accurate pretictor in this forum... thanks @BHR-3. Again I hope to have the same "luck" lol.

So what is my prediction?

Sony will ship 115 million units of PS3 and became the top seller console this gen when it stopped to sell (or near that).

Many factors should help this number happen like: PS3 price cuts ($199, $149 and $99), bundles and deals, big games, etc... it's probable and I think that will happen.

For reference I'll make a table for each region using the yearly numbers and fits it with my prediction numbers.
