WiiU is dooomed! I fully trust information supplied by fair and unbiased poster....*looks for the op*...yup like this chap turkish.

Lol,at the moderations.

And, people jumping at kowenicki, bunch of Sony supporters that doesn't like being reminded that PSV's sales were pathetic. So, he's obsessed with PSV bad sales, and you just take any opportunity to get back at him,........riiight, classy.

What Turkish posted is true. He should have included a source though.

I blame the sarcastic tone. I do not question the numbers, just wanted to make a remark on his bias. I like the thread tho.

It reminds me of my country, most people I know who play video games only have a PS3 or 360 and have CoD MW 2, BO, MW 3, BO 2 and Fifa 11, 12 and 13. I'm seriously not joking.

I know someone who owns a ps3 just for the sake of owning one to make conversation, only game he has is FIFA

The fact that you say you didn't see as big lines for PS3/3DS shows  how much that means. They both sold way more than Wii U at launch, so there had to have been larger lines on average.

Why do you think the majority of demand is coming from Germany and France? I've seen no indication of that.

I saw one of the shortages for france stories here.

http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=190683

The article I was actually looking for was about european preorders and germany eating it up and france wanting the most after that. But it was obvious germany was screaming for it since games and systems were shooting up the preorder charts. That is why I am asking ryu to confirm this about france. There was an article I found last month which said they were the most.

When the shortage for the uk was reported last month I was surprised. When spurgeon said it took longer for the uk it didn't surprise me in the slightest. We aren't buying gadgets like we used to. That is really why vita is selling so sluggishly. Not because it came out february. Not because wii u was made by nintendo and vita wasn't. People aren't being swayed by the prices of the system, memory cards or games.

SWORDF1SH I am asking all over the place. Everytime I go in shops, at the special group I attend, people I know who live in the uk online. I think for 2 days this is a good number. I have spoken to people who thought wii u was just a new version of the wii. So you are right there. But going off this it is stock shortages.

What people should focus on is how it selling in the rest of the world. The uk will pick itself up since things aren't selling much here anyway. I still think that if there were more shipments we would see higher numbers. It seems to be the stock at fault here.

Here's the situation. micromania.fr has everything (even ZombiU bundles), fnac has basic and deluxe but amazon.fr ran out of deluxe today (they should have new ones by the end of the week). Tomorrow I will go to another district to pick up my copy of Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney, so I will check some retailers at the same time. I will try to get a new idea of the situation in my district on friday. Meanwhile, don't forget to report the situation of your areas in my thread.

There have many Wii U and PS vita ads going around at the moment. I guess Nintendo didn't have enough stock here, it was expected to sell out regardless of how many were available.

Want to know a funny thing? Here in Italy we're flooded by Penelope Cruz advertising Prof. Layton, 3DS and 3DS XL. PS3 and PSV get their advertising in football matches, but if you don't watch football you don't see  much other PS advertising. Then there is Assassin's Creed III having some ads. Everything else in gaming world is still receiving almost no advertising at all. Maybe it hasn't really started yet, but Wii U has already been launched, yet we're flooded by Penelope, annihilating everything else. If there was some timid Wii U ad, then it passed by almost unnoticed, I vaguely remember something, but Penelope, Layton and 3DS are so intrusive, ubiquitous and overwhelming that I really can't remember whether I saw a Wii U ad or a Wii one. This Nintendo strategy doesn't make much sense, unless they acknowledged Wii U is supply constrained, so they're waiting for bigger shipments to start proper advertising, to avoid wasting it and possibly pissing off people by getting them hyped and then not making them all able to buy.
