graphically looks nice, but I hate that voice actress. It is too faked, it feels forced for me at least. Gameplay feels "Unchartedish" + unnecessary QTEs + unlikeable protagonist. So far no buy for me.
Also, WHY THE HELL does every eidos game lately needs some kind of "instinct" mechanic. First hitman, now this? why?

It's also meant to be fairly open which is probably why they had to scale back the visuals. The vid makes it look fairly linear but the traversal is meant to have more open areas and exploration zones.
Anyway, if it bother you that much, just get the PC version?

None of those were scaled back at all. |

that was the plan to start with, but just being on pc won't fix most of the things I'm looking at unless heavily modded.

I don't know, are we looking at the same footage? The texture work is actually great, even in those screen shots. Polygon counts are high enough, character models are fantastic... I mean I haven't really seen a game that didn't come out of Santa Monica or Guerrila that looks better.

Maybe I just need to stop comparing action adventure games on consoles to Uncharted 2 or 3 that are in more closed environments =_=; Recent obsessive sessions of Planetside 2 might have also fucked up my brain in thinking everything looks terrible since my computer turns into a heater when I play PS2, my dear lord that game works my video cards hard but it's so beautiful with a shit ton of things at once.......
With 16X AF, the textures will not look too bad on PC, poly counts are pretty terrible though, character models really are lacking, especially Laura's hair, at the very least do some Heavenly Sword shit with that hair or something, but I blame that on consoles not being able to handle more, I'm so pissed off that this game doesn't look like 4 times better and that might be due to power restrictions arrrrrr!

I wouldn't go that far. This isn't on the level of either Killzone 3 nor God of War III. I still say it's not terrible, but it's clearly behind those games. It's texture probles and a low poly count the likes of which neither of those games had issues with, and this is on top of the fact that it won't be doing as much as either of them. |
Oh I know, I was trying to say that compared to other good looking regular games the game is good looking. Character models are actually very well made, and I haven't really seen this examples of "low polygon counts". I mean I see shortcuts, flat texture work on the floor. From the looks of things the lighting is static, etc, but when you compare it to Uncharted, no it doesn't look good. But most games don't. The average game looks a bit worse than this.

pay attention to anything that's supposed to be a little round or smooth and see how angular they all are with those little stick outs not only on the characters but the environments ><; even AA can't hide those.

But I don't see any. Even those round ornaments on the building are round enough and those are just thrown together things. Trees are pretty cruvy. Rocks are round (Or flat textures). I don't see any angles on any of the character models...
