Also none of the launch titles were strong enough to sell Wii U. (...)

Exactly. 350€ with a game is too much. I'm holding off for now, and I'm Nintendo core audience since 1985.. MarioU and Nintendoland are nice, but not enough reason to buy just yet. I'll buy in a year, after a price cut and a when killer game has been released (3D Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart).

Does not surprise me. The Wii-U at the moment is not very attractive next to the PS360. So far the graphics for its games have been around the same as the PS360 without the benefit of having a huge back catalogue of games.

You aint going to get PS360 players to upgrade to the Wii-U without a very good reason to, which their isnt one. You could get Wii owners to upgrade to the Wii-U but to be honest they probably already have a PS3 or 360.

The 360 is going to pass the Wii soon for most consoles sold this gen in the UK.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I don't really believe those figures are that low at all. It's sold out everywhere round here, and my friends around the country have confirmed this. No way is it that low.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Wait, didn't Wii U launch on the 30th in the United Kingdom? How do they have full week figures?

Correct, but it was sold out almost everywhere in that time.

Wii U launch turning out to be disastrous for Nintendo, as many expected (except the nintendo camp of course).

Being that I don't see Wii Sports or Kinect Adventures on their chart at all, are we certain that GFK Chart-Track even tracks bundled software?

The only reference I see to Wii Sports is on their Wii Specific top 40 budget games chart where it ranks #25?

hmm i read a month or so before launch that uk will get only 50k units at launch (but not sure if that news was true), if those numbers are only for day one it could mean it is pretty much sold out in uk after first week.

Wii U sells 40k units in the UK in its opening weekend

Nintendo’s Wii U console sold around 40,000 units in its first 48 hours on sale in the UK, MCV understands.

Retail sources suggest that effectively amounts to a complete sellout on the UK High Street. Stock is continuing to filter through to retail at a trickle but abundant supplies are not expected until the New Year.

Undoubtedly sales could have been considerably higher had stocks have been more plentiful.

Furthermore, MCV understands that the console has enjoyed a software attach rate in excess of 2:1.

The figures were arrived at through a combination of feedback from retailers and software sales data passed on by trade sources. Using this MCV was able to extrapolate estimated sales based on the previously confirmed Wii U bundle market shares.

UPDATE: These numbers exclude digital software sales from Nintendo's eShop.

Try "hoped for".

Im looking forward to your MAJOR flop thread for the Wii U launch once the japanese numbers come in, its something that the VGC community needs to talk about.
