I can only play horror games for a limited period of time before my nerves are completly shot. At this point I have to stop and for the next 30-40 minutes I have to recover before I can calm down. Does this happen to anyone else? To what level do horror games mess with you?

Not even a little bit.

I don't get scared by horror games, but I do get startled when something unexpected jumps out of nowhere. It doesn't have any lasting effect and usually makes me laugh at myself afterward.

I haven't actually been scared by a movie or game since I was probably 11 or 12 years old. I still like survival horror games, but now that horror movies don't have an effect on me I kind of find them dull. I don't get a thrill from movies that are supposed to scare me so I just get bored.

depends which game but it works as example in amnesia but only if i play it with headphones and in absolutely dark rooms and if i really concentrate to feel as if i would be the guy i play. if i don't do that it's just the feeling that i play a videogame character in a pixelworld but if i do that it works pretty good at least in amnesia. one more important factor is that i have to play the game very slow, if i move very fast it doesn't work anymore, maybe because i lose the feeling to be that guy then.

i believe people who feel nothing then can't put themselve in that world because if they could they would be scared^^

so in short: if i want, i am scared by horror games (but only those who are really known to be scary) but i can also play those games without feeling anything.

Dead Space scared the ever-living crap out of me. I would play for 10 minutes and then get too stressed out and have to stop.

Amnesia have been the only game I was truly scared of.

Nintendo and PC gamer

haven't played a scary game, but we do need more horror games

I scare easily - chapter with Little monster guys in OG Uncharted was almost did me in.

Only game that came close to raising my heart rate was the original F.E.A.R when the little girl would pop out of no

where but even that temporary. I think the reason horror games don't scare people much is because the player

usually has to much power and control.

Yes... Yes they do.

Heck, I managed to be frightened by the Resident Evil: Revelations DEMO! Yeah, the demo!
