Forums - Microsoft - Xbox720 clocked speed low?

wow how lag is this guy,1.6Ghz was for 8 cores version but it just changed.

And Kinect 2?yeah there will be Kinect 2,but MS will just treat it as accessories, because there will be new important thing for nextbox.

Hahahahahhahaha!!!! Where are all the "720 is doomed" comments??? Oh wait, when The Big N has a low clocked cpu it's under powered etc yet when 720 is rumoured to.....

The 360 was not comparable with a top PC at launch, because it consumed 170W. A high-end system from late 2005 consumed 350W (Pentium D 3.2GHz + X1800XT).

did you see the last 3 M$ E3 press conferences the only things important to them is the 360 being a all in one devices and appealing to casuals with kinect

you got a point but look at PC games then compare to what the 360 launched with

Maybe it's just my opinion but if I have to launch a console next year it's will be something like...

CPU: Core i5-3320M (without the integrated GPU)
GPU: GTX 680M
RAM: 4GB

I tried to adjust consumption so it did not take all high-end components... the power  consumption for this machine is better than 360 or PS3 at release.

And this would cost how much?

for a games console to launch with spec as high as a top end gaming PC would cost the consumers over $1000, do you think that's realistic, back in 2005 SLI/Crossfire was still in its infancy but now top end gaming PC's can use up to 4 graphics cards, 2 GTX 690's will cost over $1400 a 3960x cpu will cost around $1000 and that before you even add memory, the motherboard, the psu, case, cables, hard drives.

are you seriously going to tell me console manufactures will perform miracles to release a console that can top a top end gaming PC, they could in 2005 but in todays market it would be suicide, no one would pay $1000 for a games console just cause its almost as powerfull as a highend gaming PC (not top end as your talking several thousand $$$).

we're are most likely looking at 500$ to 700$ dollar console not counting tax or games if what you expect happens

I guess that means that the 8 core CPU rumour is probably correct then. Man that is an insane amount of CPU power for a console even if they are using 2 cores for systems/kinnect stuff.
Xeon E5-2650 8 16 2 GHz 20 MB 95 Watt $1106

What are you trying to say?

Current rumours point to AMD Kaveri or Jaguar based CPU. I don't see how a Intel server CPU is relevent to the conversation...

Quality over quantity.

And makes the CPUs that are not on the level of intel asks most people here there using intel.

jaguar in all of reality is decent CPU  if clocked at 1.6 will have good performance but its insane at all.

pc users on here wouldn't use because intel is the insane while clocked hi.

believe Xbox is clocking lower so they can lower the heat.

but like wiiu if they use the CPU with it being on mcm chip can get good performance but if you thinking this is going to destroy the wiiu CPU you may want to reconsider your thoughts.

Jauger isn't mind blowing at all and with 8 cores it isn't going to help make this beast system which I haven't even heard the jaguar can do.

please post a link to a 8 core jaguar so I can see what your seeing.

There is no need for 3ghz chips no more.these new chips do more with less.
Look at the wiiu.
