Forums - Microsoft - Xbox720 clocked speed low?

a custom apu with a relatively powerful gpu should be more than sufficient, why a GTX 680 when a 660 is more cost effective, the only problem i see is with physx, is nvidia having some part in the consoles graphics or is physx going to remain exclusively on the PC

Maybe it's just my opinion but if I have to launch a console next year it's will be something like...

CPU: Core i5-3320M (without the integrated GPU)
GPU: GTX 680M
RAM: 4GB

I tried to adjust consumption so it did not take all high-end components... the power  consumption for this machine is better than 360 or PS3 at release.

And this would cost how much?


The price of a semi-decent laptop.

They should just keep the same processor, double it's core count, increase it's clockspeed due to the smaller fabrication process allowing for more TDP headroom,  boost the ram to 8-16gb, drop in a GPU like a Radeon 7770 and call it a day.

You would also have full backwards compatability with the Xbox 360 games aswell due to keeping with the same processor architecture, plus with 6 cores and 12 threads, my 6 core hyper threaded chip might get better core utilisation in console ports. :P

i completely forgot about arcade but i have no idea what is going on with it has been any good games recently
