for a games console to launch with spec as high as a top end gaming PC would cost the consumers over $1000, do you think that's realistic, back in 2005 SLI/Crossfire was still in its infancy but now top end gaming PC's can use up to 4 graphics cards, 2 GTX 690's will cost over $1400 a 3960x cpu will cost around $1000 and that before you even add memory, the motherboard, the psu, case, cables, hard drives.
are you seriously going to tell me console manufactures will perform miracles to release a console that can top a top end gaming PC, they could in 2005 but in todays market it would be suicide, no one would pay $1000 for a games console just cause its almost as powerfull as a highend gaming PC (not top end as your talking several thousand $$$).
