I don't think the so-called "haters" genuiney hate the Vita per say... I just think they get enjoyment out of rubbing it in the face of Sony fans that it's doing less than stellar in sales despite being an impressive piece of hardware, and that the handheld market is once again getting dominated by Nintendo's less powerful, younger-skewing handheld.

Enjoy it.  It is just people are on edge over sales, for console war reasons, with Sony being at junk bond status and other things.  The Vita does look real cool though.  I am personally just not in a place to get one.  Too much other things in life piling up.  Maybe I will get one sometime down the road.

See I've learned the main reason the Vita is failing is because of the internet. All of us owners are dumbfounded by the "vita haz no gaemz" mentality so we try to explain it on forums yet it's a lost cause. No matter how much "logic" or examples you use online, you can't instantly change a naysayer's opinion. It's opinion verse opinion, fact verse fact.

Without the internet we'd be more interested in talking to local people about the console wars and such. When someone says "All its games are watered down ports" you can just hand them your vita to show they're wrong. That is the way it used to work with portables; showing off the system and games.

So no, you shouldn't because people don't actually hate it. The internet is full of people falling prey to group think. If there comes a day that you let a bunch of gamers try your vita and a lot really do hate it, then you can re-ask this thread's question.

If you enjoy it, then enjoy it.  Don't let others tell you otherwise.  You put in the money and time to play the games and got fun out of it. 

No one should have the right to tell you that the fun you are having is not the right type of fun.

the game gear is barely a hanheld though, since you have to stay near the charger all the time.

No, you shouldnt. That is something that should apply to everyone and everything. Theres way too much gratuitous hate going on in the internet. Its always good when someone focus on having fun instead of hoping on in the popular hate train.

Do i think the Vita is a sucessful system? No. Do i think it was a failure since inception and sony made grave mistakes with it since product development and marketing? Yes, yet it bears no weight. If someone has fun with it, enjoy it the most you can. Nothing makes me happier than to see people taking a stand for their own enjoyment and not to appease internet trolls. Analysis is one thing, hate is another. Most people seem to meld those together often (sometimes its only unfounded hate aswell).
