Let's get this out of the way first. Graphical splendor is not the most important aspect of a game. This is a undisputable fact. Yes, it's important that a game look good, but that has more to do with art design than super duper graphic chips.

But that's not what this thread is about. I want to talk about how you feel the Wii U stacks up against the current gen and how you feel it will compare to the other next gen machines. The recent tech specs released by a hacker are interesting: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/29/wii-u-cpu-gpu-details-uncovered

There are rumors flying everywhere about the next gen. It's an exciting time because we don't know much and what we do know sets our imaginations on fire.

Like the title suggests I'm asking you how powerfull you believe the Wii U is. Vote, discuss, post sources and explanations, comparison pics and articles, etc.

Please no flaming. Keep it civil, this topic isn't a liscense to bash anything. Have some respect for fans of stuff you may not be a fan of. Try to remember that great games have always made their way to even the least powerfull hardware, sometimes even the best games.

So far the majority of voters feel that the Wii U is marginally more powerful than the PS360. Interesting. I wonder if this will change if an exclusive can pull off Halo 4 or Uncharted 3 level of graphics.

If that happens it will be on par with the PS360.

Wii U is as powerfull as your imagination wants it to be ^(*-*)^

2 times.

this is a bit silly. So I picked a different option.

It either is more poweful, or it isn't. Or it's more powerful in certain aspects, and less poweful in others. Or it's more poweful, and devs don't optimize very well. This cannot be "felt" it either is or is not etc.

However, since exact specs and things aren't released. I guess you can argue this way. But this will most likely result in "superfans" of each console being delusional...

People allways argue even when there are very specific console details readily available. The machines are allways so different that people can twist them to mean anything they want. For instance the Dreamcast did some very unique things to optimise graphical output. If it had not been killed so early we could have seen it pull off things the arguably more powerfull PS2 only did after years of developer R&D.

That's why I think it's more important to find out how people feel about a console's power. Graphic ability is seen as a percieved as value by potential buyers.

Overall: 1.5x PS360

It's the only console you can play Legend Of Zelda's, Super Mario's, Mario Kart's, Metroid's, Donkey Kong Country's, Castlevania's 1,2,3,&4 and most importantly Final Fantasy 3 on the SUPERNES so it's SUPERPOWERFUL by association!

It's about 2X-4X when it comes down to it on the overall graphical level assuming there is little bottleneck on the system compared to the PS360's various bottlenecks, but TBH I don't think power is the issue here, it's always about the proper support.
