there will be a GOW4 for PS4 with Kratos as the protagonist. Deimos will also be there but maybe as a bad dude.

This is one case where I dont think they should though. God of War 3 pretty much ended EVERYTHING. Kratos got his vengeance and killed basically everyone. Incredible game but the story is done.

They could try with a different Mythology.

the problem with a franchise is you are stuck into certain preconcieved notions -- Gow will have crates with red orbs that refill life, kratos will have his iconic chains of olympus, familur enemy types, ect.

..i'd like to see SM make another hack 'n slash without GoW in it's name to see what they could do without all the baggage that comes with calling it Gow.

We need a new God of War in a different setting and different mythology.

seriously people we have been gone over this. Sony Santa Monica ARE working on a new IP! why are people still saying they should when we know they are.

And GOW4 will be there mark my words..as it should. Few years into next gen I think. All they need is to change up the mythology and we are good to go

I feel like SSM are stuck with God of War. On the one hand, they've done what they want to do with it. But on the flip side, it's Sony's second-to-third biggest IP and there's not a chance in hell they're just going to let it be dropped. I'd agree with Sales in that respect that it won't - and probably shouldn't - be dropped.

Fans may lose faith with more of the same Greek-mythology-Kratos stuff, but equally it's a series that's going to pick up new fans along the way as much as it loses older ones. They could reboot it in a different mythology, but I'd imagine we'd lose the iconic design of Kratos which has become ingrained with the Playstation brand after all these years.

It's a tough one. Interested to see what happens after Ascension nonetheless.

I googled and found articles of SSM stating that thr trilogy is infact done but there will be more GoW games and that they are approaching them with great caution.

Sounds good i suppose... New trilogy didnt seem to piss of Halo fans so hopefully GoW will have a new story arc. What boggles my mind is that GoW sort of is Greek mythology. Will they really start a whole new mytos? Iunno..

Cant wait to see how Ascension is. Even though it feels like the SP is a bit of an excuse just to try MP. I hope i am dead fucking wrong.

I think we will another one but not for a while. With the number of deaths/visits to Hades Kratos has had, I dont see coming back to life as being much of a problem. Prequels dont tend to sell as well as the main series and I think the lure of a major numbered sequel will be too much for sony/SSM to resist - you just have to look at how well Halo 4 is doing. And I think it is a good move. I would love to see what happens next and the new directions the games could take.
