The average for Vita is .084 while the average for 3DS is .090. These numbers  are far too close for such a small sample size to support multiplats performing better on one system over another. Factor in that the PS Vita has digital sales (albeit a few) for all of these and has an eighth of the user base and the notion that 3rd party games perform better on 3DS is preposterous.

Afraid not. I can name four 3DS games with a metascore under 60 that have sold .30m or more. On Vita, that would be hit status.

Unfortunately some notable 3DS/Vita titles aren't even charted. :/ That just about kills this topic for me.

The game database folks on this site have fallen off BIG TIME.  So many games I bought in the past 6 months have YET to be put in the database (i.e. can be added to the "my games" category on my profile).
