*Reads title thread and creator* Makes sense. *Goes back to playing Halo 4*

I hope you read the last part of the title thread then. Doubt it though.

I read the whole thing and I'm not "raging." This is just the same as the last 3 threads this week and it gets kinda old.

I'm not sure about you, but when I read a thread about a subject and it's an opinion I expect the the person that wrote it to be knowledgable in the area.  Like you stated in a previous thread, you do not even know what's on xbl and you obviously do not own an xbox. So, how am I suppose to take you seriously? The answer is: I can't. If I wanted to know more about what Ps+ offers, then I might ask you.

All my complaints about XBL still stand today, which makes my opinion on it up to date.

Pay to use Party Chat? Check.

Pay to have the OPTION to pay for Netflix? Check.

Still leading a bad example for the rest of the console makers? Check.

I'll add this one, Still making people pay for online when all the other consoles offer it for free? Check.

I owned an Xbox in 2006 and sold it in 2007 because I didn't want to pay for something I could get for free.

And still being able to provide a far superior online experience to the other consoles as it is a profitable business? Check

Wow I didn't even know you have been without an Xbox since 2007. Makes your petty trolling even sadder.

I don't agree with everything in the OP, but I do agree paying to get access to online multiplayer and other applications is unacceptable. I subscribed to Xbox LIVE for four years: from 2008 until this year when I cancelled. And it wasn't about the money -- I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford the cost -- it was about the principle. I can play online with friends for free on Playstation, on Wii, and on PC. I should be able to do the same on Xbox.

I'm really shocked that so many are defending paying for Xbox LIVE. I can understand the argument "well it sucks, but how else am I supposed to play Halo?" I don't understand all the people defending the practice as if they were shareholders.

You act like netflix and party chat are the only two things that set psn and xbl apart, which once again reinforces my previous statement about  you not know anything about xbl. Btw, if your intelligent you can just use windows media on your xbox and stream netflix through there without gold required.

MS runs there our servers unlike Sony, which obviously cost them money to do. Any sane company is going to charge for it.

Just because you supposedly owned an xbox for less than a year when it just came to the market, doesn't help your case. Believe it or not a lot has changed since then.

People will gladly pay for a service if the quality is worth the money. You don't need to be a shareholder to believe Live is superior enough to justify the entrance fee.

Your principal doesn't apply to the real world. I mean, I can watch digital TV for free. That means I shouldn't have to pay for Showtime. I can watch NFL games for free on FOX or CBS. That means I shouldn't have to pay for NFL Sunday Ticket.

XBL is the best service in this industry. Including Steam.
I am in my 10th year now and it was absolutely worth it.

And yes, I have played them all, well most of them (Steam, PSN, XBL, Battle.net, Dreamarena).

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

The first point is absolutely true. But I don't always see posters couching their arguments in those terms. I'm perfectly willing to accept a well-thought out argument about Xbox LIVE being worth the price of admission, but sometimes people defend the cost without really giving much though to it. That's certainly what I did for the first four years.

Your NFL and premium cable analogy doesn't really work, however. Showtime and Sunday Ticket are more like XBLA games and Netflix, things that cost extra money. Xbox LIVE is more like a television manufacturer charging a fee to get the opportunity to pay for Showtime and Sunday Ticket.

Good read, I just got a cheap secondhand 360 last week to play Lost odyssey (finally lol) I don't plan on taking it online cause im a Jew when it comes to things like paying to play online, I like value for money so I do use Ps+ only because I don't like paying full price for games so plus means I rarely have to buy games OR pay full price for anything haha :P
