Monster Hunter March/April 2013 If I remeber correct.

My guess for Smash Bros is end of 2014, but who knows...

I'd say we could see Smash Bros. come the end of this year; or early next. An E3 reveal and the WiiU's big holiday title? Seems possible.

Also, looks like devs can set their own prices on the eShop. This could be both good and bad...

I'm downloading the update right now. It makes pretty sounds while the data is downloading. How big is the update?

I've heard it's a couple GB. It's been taking people with 25Mbps Internet about an hour so...

Can you download in the background?

By the way, if there are any Canadians here, superstore is having a no tax day today so you basically save 13% on the consoles and games. When I got mine 6 people had been waiting in line and 2 or 3 people showed up after me. They still had about 6 left when I left. I went to Wal-mart to get BLOPS2 because superstore didn't get it in and wal-mart only had two basic units left and a man who had pre-ordered and paid for the deluxe was yelling at the manager because they had sold his reserved copy to someone else.

No, I don't think so. I just put the TV on for my daughter while it downloads.

Oh, that's a bit disappointing...maybe it will be possible in future updates? Who knows...

And it's sad to hear about that man who had his reserved system sold. That is my biggest worry for launch, and why I'm going at midnight to be safe...

Impressions so far.

The console is beautiful for its color but I am not really digging the glossy finish.  Posted twice my wii u was scuffed upon opening but ill let it slide.

-The inital walkthrough to setup your Wii Game pad and TV functionality are pretty straight forward  the screen is bright and everything is easy to read.  It makes a great TV remote, i have yet to setup my FIOS box with it (not sure if you can yet).

The Update and install took an hour and fifteen minutes early this morning.

Setting up your mii is easier than ever with taking picture opiton, but my friends and I were dissapointed that there was no type of expansion on the Mii in terms of graphics or options.

-The Wii plaza when you start the game is a welcome change from the Channels (which are still available) but the nintendo prewritten pop up's can get annoying fast.  I tried to move around but could not, the mii moves on its own.

Channels availabe to me so far is hulu, netflix, amazon instant, wii u chat, the game icon is the first in the top left, settings

-Lots, LOTS of social intergration. I can easily see where it can be a turnoff for some individuals but Nintendo gives you the option to opt in or out.

Nintendo ID setup is straight forward, no profane names, valid email, birthday and state you live in.  It seems you have a local Mii name and your overall nintendo ID.

Miiverse is broken down very nicely, everything is group according to friends lists, peoples sudo game twitter feeds, game communities.  The communities for the games, for what I can see, can be an easy place for people to troll or overhype, Nintendo is already putting the smackdown on multiple comments.  Some people out there can really draw!  The game with the most comments so far is NintendoLand, followed by NSMBU then Zombie U.

-The Wii U e shop looks nice, full function game available for download.  Some titles are missing such as COD BO2 but they do have a coming soon section where you see games like Tekken Tag.  I am currently buying Sonic All Starts which is only 39.99 at the eShop.  There is a warning at the bottom that you need to have an external harddrive to download games to.

The eshop gives you the option to sync your club nintendo account (I dont have one)

Have not tried transferring Wii data to the Wii U yet, probably this afternoon.

Have not tried to drain my batter for the gamepad yet, I always have it charged (except when the charge light is gone) , have not setup my Pro controller yet nor my Wii Motes.  Have not tried Wii mode yet.

NSMB U had some type of streetpass function for the game that you can opt in or out of.  Thought that was interesting

more as i dig in.

Sounds very encouraging! I like the sound of Miiverse and I think it can be a real draw in games. I'd like to see it in action in games; such as NSMBU and ZombiU before I voice my opinion, though. But it looks very smooth and very easy to get to grips with, same as the Nintendo Network.

It'd be interesting to see what's on the UK version. I'd imagine Netflix, Lovefilm, YouTube and Iplayer maybe? Who knows. Don't even know if we're getting TVii yet, but I'm 90% certain we will...

Also, I can't see your picture, though that may just be me...but your post sounds very encouraging!

One other thing while the update downloads, it's about 80% there now,I was unable to set up the gamepad as TV remote thing, It goes through 26 different attempts based on putting in Samsung as the make and not one of them worked, the TV is only 2 years old so I found that weird. I also couldn't connect to my scientific atlanta cable box but that thing is probably close to ten years old so I wasn't suprised, I will be updating that pretty soon.

This is the first I've heard of this problem...everyone else I've seen has said it's worked nicely and easily...

The message I got at the end of the many attempts was that certain models and years might not be supported. Not a big deal since I already have a TV remote that works quite well :)
