Not Jim Sterling.

I mean come on here are his two other Wii U reviews:

Batman: AC Armored Edition: 7/10 (wth?)

Scribblenauts: 5/10

8.8/10
So it's not as horrible as GS+Gameinformer say.

What is going on with these reviews? Maybe survival horror is just a genre or formula that naturally polarizes?

Not too surprising that it's getting mixed reviews. I think the start of the Destructoid review explains why:

"ZombiU will be viewed through a very particular lens, one designed to scrutinize the Wii U's worth as a "hardcore" gaming system. One of the few original launch titles built to appeal to the lifelong gamer, many are going to judge its worth as a demonstration of the GamePad's functions and how they can make familiar experiences more engaging.

While that is a perfectly valid way to approach ZombiU, it is something of a tragedy that it shall be the near universal standard by which it is judged. For you see, the game does something far more important than that, something it won't get credit for, due to the lens everybody will be peering through.

ZombiU brings real survival horror back to home consoles, and that's what we should really be talking about."

And that is the key for me.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

So it looks like the game will be around 75 on metacritic, not amazing but still good for a new IP and launch game.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Yeah, this once seems dependant on how the player likes their survival horror. I usually avoid the genre, but the addition of permadeath seems intriguing.

Lol @ the GameInformer review. Tim's one of the biggest Resident Evil fans in all of reviewerdom, so I have half a mind to ignore him completely. Greg Miler's review was pretty fair. After reading it I thought, "well, this soungs like a potential 8 to me, but I can see where he's getting the 6.3 from."

Wake up! That site is fake! It is not Gamespot. Since when Gamespot url begins with an "m"?

http://m.gamespot.com/zombiu/

Yeah right.

If you want the real deal go for http://uk.gamespot.com/ or http://www.gamespot.com/

By the way... no ZombieU review up to this point. I guess people's need to bash really make'em blind.

This should be locked.

IGN gave it a 6.3, and GI gave it a 5. Very disappointing for one of the most hyped WiiU games at launch.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

You see, I never saw anything special about it.

But seriously, I basically know nothing about it, so that's just me. My opinion about this game doesn't matter.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

He uses the entire rating scale unlike most people, I respect that.

Yes, he uses the whole scale, which is good, but he uses it badly, which is bad.  Half the time his review doesn't even match up with his score, it's like he just throws an arbitrary number out there.  If there is a poster boy for the "read the review, avoid the score" mentality, it's him.  Killzone 3 getting a perfect score taught me that.
