Nope; I love ME3's online. You are close in that people deride this game because of something to do with storytelling, but in this case it is nothing to do with the ending. |
I do too but it was the only game that came to mind.
Deus Ex? People take the piss out of the old-school dialogue.. part of its charm really.

A good guess, but the correct answer was, in fact...
#37: Mario Party (N64)!!
Maybe an odd game to have in my top 50, but I just have too many fond memories of playing this game! Before it was done over and over and over again, the mini games were actually a ton of fun for me. At this point especially, they still felt fresh, and some of them really were very creative! I'll never forget the two skateboarding ones in particular, really loved those once I finally got the hang of them. Yeah, the chancy elements could get pretty annoying if you were good enough to be the only to worry about having to get screwed by them (which I often was), but they still weren't the end of the world. After iteration number 3 though, the series really did get stale. That said, I can never resist picking up a new Mario Party game every once in awhile, and all thanks to the fun I had with this very first one.
Hint for #36: A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
Hmm

Diablo 3?
Primarily an RPG player but have interest in any game that will make me think.
38. Beneath a Steel Sky (PC)

I played BaSS when it was made available as freeware just under ten years ago (to the best of my knowledge, it still is, should you feel like checking it out), it's a Sci-fi point and click adventure game, first released in 1994 when that kind of thing was still pretty popular. Given that it is set in a dystopian future in a world ravaged by pollution and nuclear fallout, it holds up fairly well and keeps that futuristic feel that some fiction can struggle with over time. The game centres around Robert Foster, and his attempt to uncover who he is and what is going on in Union City, with the help of his robot sidekick whose personality can be transferred into a variety of machines to assist as required.
Number 37 isn't GTA, but it's something similar.

Sleeping Dogs? Retro City Rampage? Heck, Simpsons Hit and Run? (That last game is great BTW).

Saints Row?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
38. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader, GC (2001) LucasArts/Factor 5 (last year 37)
This game encapsulates the classic moments of the original trilogy's timeless battles and packs in some other varied, interesting missions, with lots of secrets, a challenging medal system, and some truly epic battles, this game really captures the appeal of the jet-fighter genre while perfectly synchronizing with the legend of Star Wars.
For 37: "Story mode" is a very accurate name for this game's single-player mode. Some stage names from this game include "Jelly Pipe," "Neuron Jungle" and the aptly-named "Frustration."

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
So 38 is No More Heroes. A great game in its own right, and it is always fun to whack some enemies with a lightsaber, and the humour just adds to the experience. However, the game is let down by pointless minigames and a poor overworld.
37 is the game which redefined the genre, and one which is still heavily regarded today. Just like with every one of these, the protagonist does have a silver lining.
My 37th game is from a series that has pretty much only had one great installment(this one), the rest are mediocre(in the eyes of fans and critics), this series hasn't even seen an intallment this console generation.
