Maybe an odd game to have in my top 50, but I just have too many fond memories of playing this game! Before it was done over and over and over again, the mini games were actually a ton of fun for me. At this point especially, they still felt fresh, and some of them really were very creative! I'll never forget the two skateboarding ones in particular, really loved those once I finally got the hang of them. Yeah, the chancy elements could get pretty annoying if you were good enough to be the only to worry about having to get screwed by them (which I often was), but they still weren't the end of the world. After iteration number 3 though, the series really did get stale. That said, I can never resist picking up a new Mario Party game every once in awhile, and all thanks to the fun I had with this very first one.
