So 48 was Bit.Trip BEAT.
47 is a handheld iteration in a series where the upcoming game is getting a new trailer revealed today
48. Braid (X360, PS3, Windows, Mac, your mom)

One of the first XBLA games to really become a critical and commercial success, Braid single handedly raised the bar for what is to be expected from a downloadable game. It fairly oozes with charm thanks to its painterly visual style and pitch perfect acoustic soundtrack, both of which represented a quantum leap in quality over previous downloadables, which were largely either ports of ancient games or cheaply made new ones. Far from being a triumph of style over substance, though, Braid also boasts brilliant timeshifting gameplay and is one of the most devilishly clever puzzle-platformers around. The story is vague and impressively evocative, and culminates in the single most profoundly mindfucking plot twist in the history of the universe. Amazingly, it does all this while managing to only be a tad bit pretentious. That's no mean feat because Jonathan Blow is kind of a twat.

I cannot stop watching that gif. Plus gif won word of the year beating crap works like yolo. Yea Blow was pretty sad in Indie Game the movie. Even if people liked Braid he said they didn't get it or like it right. Hmm. Oh well guy is talented.
My 48 is Pokemon Black and White, which is down three places from last year (where it was 45)
My commentary from last year
45. Pokemon Black and White, DS (2011) Nintendo/Game Freak
In one of those ever-unfair conundrums, Black and White is a superior entry to many of the other Pokemon games on this list, but the others win nostalgia points and come out many places ahead. Black and White, however, will remain the first Pokemon game where i finally took Pokemon training seriously, and reaped the rewards of a perfectly-balanced team. Final squad: Emboar, Krookodile, Swanna, Zekrom, Celebi, Weavile
My next is a ripoff of Final Fantasy in name, but not in gameplay.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yes very good. Just watched the new trailer now and it was damn fancy!
#48: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (2005)
Last Year: 47

This was my first Fire Emblem game... and it was my now X360 lovin', Call of Duty playin', NBA 2K13 ballin', dudebro of a brother that introduced me to it. Isn't irony wonderful? But seriously, without my brother, I would have never gotten to play this game and be introduced to the world of FIre Emblem. And let me tell you, without Fire Emblem, I wouldn't be the same gamer you see before you today. Such a fantastic series, with great endearing characters, easy to play/hard to master gameplay, and a great adventure that lies before you. Path of Radiance is surely a great game, and I'm better for playing it. Ilyana 4 Lyfe! ^_^
