Since Miz guessed my #49 so quickly, I'm going to make the clues a little harder :P

Clue for my #48:

This game puts the style in stylus.

49. Banjo-Tooie (N64)

Banjo-Tooie was from Rare's golden age in the 90's, and it won't be the only game from that era on my list. Gruntilda the witch is back from the dead (just like any good antagonist), and it's up to Banjo and Kazooie to save the day for a second time.

My 48th game was followed by a rather long wait for the next entry in the franchise.

Super Metroid?

Also, Banjo-Tooie rocks! Expect to see that a little further down on my list.

Number 48 is still selling well despite being from a previous generation of games.

O_o

Gran Turismo 4?

Right generation, wrong game. Although the initials for the game start off the same.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

Edit: Oops! Miz guessed San Andreas before me.

49. Super Mario 3D Land, 3DS (2011) Nintendo (New)

This game created something interesting in terms of being able to effectively hybridize 3D Mario and 2D Mario, a commendable feat, by bringing together the charm of the series that was my first-owned game ever (3D Mario) with the more intensive jump-n-run style of the 2D games. The normal worlds were a bit on the easy side, but the star worlds could get viciously challenging. They brought in the Boomerang suit, brought back the Raccoon and even the Tanuki with its ability to transform into a jizo statue. They also had a quite satisfying final Bowser fight.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Zelda DS? (Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass )

Alright, so 49 was Super Mario 64.

48 will be the first of 2 appearances from everyone's favourite Commander, which spawned multiple sequels in the following years.

Right system, wrong game.

Commander Keen?

My 48th game(s) is misleadingly titled, because the earliest games in the franchise actually were monochromatic, but had colorful titles, instead of being a colorful game with a monochromatic title.

Pokemon

@Veknoid_Outcast: I have no idea. EBA? TWEWY?

Nah, though those were awesome as well.

And I would say Kirby but I'm not sure if they had colourful titles or not...
