Uncharted if anything is more guilty. More disparity between cutscene and game in UC2 and 3 than Halo 4 cutscene - gameplay. 

And just because Halo 4 does look this good its unfair to call it out with absolutely no proof to your statement. 

If you play Halo 4 you will know its incredibly close the gameplay to its cutscenes. obviously some things do get changed.

I called it out because it was 2560 x 1440 resolution, it had heavy anti-aliasing applied and it was a huge leap in graphical quality over the gameplay I've seen. Because of the anti-aliasing and draw distance, I also implied it was CGI in my first post, but I changed my mind after taking a closer look. I haven't seen the original shot from that cutscene, so I won't jump to conclusions as it could just be a pre-release bullshot, but from the shots I've seen of that cutscene, I think it's heavily pre-rendered.

I don't like it when people post pre-rendered shots of Uncharted 3 in graphical comparison threads (something which Aldro avoided I think).

Here's some comparison shots of cutscenes vs gameplay for Uncharted 3 and Halo 4. I tried to find similar scenes. If you want you can try and find better shots, wasn't sure where to look with Halo 4 and I didn't want to post shots with spoilers in.

Personally I think we should only include full gameplay. By that I mean not suedo gameplay or gameplay that is limited. Because again they can increase textures, shadowing resolution etc. Something like this:

Well there is a difference. 

Take GOW3. Normal gameplay looks great. But the textures and effects are upped considerably on the fly for the QTE bits ( Not all, its fairly easy to see when this happens ). 

For example the battle with Hercules is all realtime. The texture work on Hercules is fairly average compared to say fighting Poseidon. 

Uncharted 2 for example. Looks at its best when the player control is taken away. The normal gameplay of climbing, and gunfights has worse explosions and less detail on textures. Its pretty easy to see. Notice the same with games like Dantes Inferno, the new Assasins Creed 3 and Max Payne 3 to name some more. 

Clever tricks, but becoming to common, and not really where I ope gaming continues to go. 

Hopefully with more power next generation more developers will opt for huge moments in games to be in full realtime like Watchdogs, and Even the big moments in Halo 4.

1280 x 720 there, not like his pics where UC3 is 1217 x 685 or 640x361 or  960x542

If you're going to show graphics, use the proper resolution of the game...
