Don't watch too much Simpsons, your brain might rot if it hasn't already... |

Uncharted 3 is a fantastic game there's no doubt about it. But when it comes to PS3 shooters, Killzone 3 can't compete. Xbox 360 is the king of shooters in my opinion. |
I see. Well Killzone 2 was pretty acclaimed, so "cant compete" is a bit ..too much? Killzone 2 has 91 meta (2009 release), Reach has 91 meta (2010 release). Halo 4 has 87 meta (2012 release), Killzone 3 has 84 meta (2011 release). In all fairness, its not that marginal and both are either in the 90s or 80s :P. I can see if you prefer one over the other, but I cant see how using reviews makes the PS3 not being able to compete.

| Skeeuk said: LOL every time any new 360 title is out its always touted as best ever. when i used to own a 360 and finally played these said games they looked OK at best. in comparison to ps3's best offerings they will always be behind. anyone who doesnt own a 360 buy one and see yourself the games are excellent but visually not upto ps3's best. of course its without saying anytime a good solid looking 360 title arrives to the fanB it will always seem much greater than it actually is combined with fanboy reviews a kind "frenzy" erups on forums which will die down after a few weeks |
But of course given you don't own both anymore you cant make that statement about games you haven't played can you? Gears 3 and Halo 4 are a match for the PS3's best titles and I'm including Uncharted and Killzone in that statement (I've not played GOW3 as I don't like the series but general consensus doesn't suggest it's above KZ and UC).
Finally saying the likes of Gears 1, Gears 2, Fable 2, Forza 3, Crackdown, Bioshock, etc, etc looked "OK at best" is pretty laughable.

General consensus suggests that GoW3 is infact up with UC2&3... To some, even best here.

I was merely implying that while I hadn't played it, the general consesus isn't that it is a different league to KZ or UC. As I said I haven't played it but from what I've seen SS wise and through general opinion it is on par but not ahead of KZ or UC by much at all if anything. I realise to some people it maybe their best looking game but that is becuase of course it's subjective. I just wanted to make it clear that my opinion was based on only having played KZ2/3 and UC/2/3 as those considered the powerhouses on the PS3. Having played those I consider Halo 4 easily on par with them and I've never been one to praise Halo's graphics as being stellar (at least not that I can remember).
People are downplaying the game without seeing it in motion for themselves which is silly. I've been playing the game on a 80" projector and its simply gorgeous with the only fault being some jaggies in the odd places of the game. The start of mission Requiem is stunning...

look amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0oe_-ra4Mw
So this thread has been up for a while now. I keep hoping it will die so I ignore it but nope it keeps coming back.
For starters yes Halo 4 and Forza Horizons looks amazing being on a console that is 7 years old.
Making games look last gen, no. Uncharted and God of War would also be on the same level. All different art directions so pick which one you prefer.
Either way you shouldn't base your opinions making it sound like they're so biased.

I'm on my 2nd play through now, also on a projector. Yes it looks great but I haven't had as many wow moments with Halo 4 as in other games. Killzone 3's ice seas is about as immersive as a game can get, best jetpack use I've seen. Uncharted 3 from rough seas onwards is amazing. Uncharted 2's building collapse, I killed myself on the spot to replay that section a couple of times before moving on. The train sequence with the dynamically changing background is a technical marvel.
Halo 4 certainly looks the part but there is not all that much going on and during general gameplay it starts to feel a bit repetitive. The scale is great but the open floating platforms in a big hollow empty area theme is a bit overused in the 2nd half of the game.
The metal indoor areas and especially the lighting on metal surfices is the best I have seen. Although the insides are pretty empty overall the stylized look makes it all literally shine. The outdoors are OK, the crash site, rocky areas, jungle, desert, have all been done better. Cutscenes and vistas are top notch though.
Anyway good enough for a 2nd playthrough. I'm enjoying it the same as Killzone 3's and Resistence 3's single player campaigns.
^^ You do realise you are comparing scripted events, to a game were the enemy have their own sandbox. Cant think of any moments like the wraith battles in Halo 4 in Uncharted or Killzone games. Yes the scripted events are great, but so was the scripted events in Gears of War 2. Comparing graphical detail only, character models, lighting, particle effect effect, Halo 4 Beats them hands down.
