One day I mentioned to the CGI (I guess) that the Gran Turismo games sell so unlike any other franchise on the market... LEGZ are absolutely different from any other game I've ever seen.

Those are some truly impressive numbers.

What's with the discrepancy between GT5: Prologue numbers on this site and shipped numbers?

Vgchartz: 4.11 m (sold through)
PD - 5.35 million (shipped)

That's 1.24m in the difference.

Is there really that many on shelves, or do downloads make up the big difference?

i do not think that this game deserves those sales.i would love to see forza motorsport in it's sales position.

I Believe Sony Will Ship 10 Million Copies Of GT5 Before 2 Years. And You?

Just 800k to reach 10 million... and there are more 3 weeks to 2 years birthday.

So with the huges sales in this 3 weeks I can say I missed my prediction by 600-700k.

Pretty AMAZING predicition made in Feb 2011.

A little undertracked and a little download bevause GT5:P didn't sell 1 million digital copies.

to add to what pezus has said... the game is 2 years old... so why wouldn't they only have that many? there is no reason to have more than 1 oe 2 on the shelf at stores at this point.
