I shudder to think of GT6 Prologue. PD are the only guys who can get away with funding their full game with a demo....and their fans will love them for it.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I think a Gran Turismo 6Prologue game for PS3 will bring many potential buyers for a PS4 on the table. So i think sony would be dumb if they wouldnt do that. And since i expectet the ps4 do be able to play PS3 games too i think its highly likely. Here i can hope that this scenary happens.

PD may produce a prologue (not a demo, a smaller sample of the full game hence the price was under half of the full games RRP, the definition of demo is a fraction of the full game or a very small sample), plus GT fans were crying out for the full game so PD offered a smaller version of the full game to ease tension. how many other racing games can boast over 5 tracks and 20+ cars on a so called demo, im yet to experience a demo with that much content.

i wonder if Sony might have talks with the guys who created PCSX2 as the current speculation as to the ps4 specs are even closer to current gen PC's, could you imagine playing GT3 A-Spec @ 1920x1080p-60fps.

I pray to god that GT6 is a launch title for PS4. That would be epic win in Europe especially.

I doubt it. A GT6 Prologue probably (I hope so).

Remember that Kaz wants perfection. The first attempts on a new hardware are seldom close to that.

I don't know...I remember reading an article from Kaz that said the next Gran Turismo game won't take as long to develop as GT5. I believe he said the framework for GT6 has already been developed with GT5.

Hopefully GT6 can be developed in four years and can release in 2014, which would be the best time imo. We'll see though.

Yes he did, but I believe that was before the not soo stellar reaction to many of the game's elements that did not meat expectations. I would rather have them take two years more and do something "revolutionary" for the console market, that is implement a capable full online championship system a la iRacing.

So I expect platform and industry leading multiplayer technology (low latency, high quality, high robustness whatever else there is) and an online championship structure where everyone can find a well organized fun online race.

I also expect 32 cars on track at the same time, flawless graphics, full visual procedural damage moddeling and full physical damage moddeling, epic sound (not just engine sound fidelity, but intensity, spatiality, I'm talking about this level of quality https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUDTlvagjJA).

Perfect 3D with virtual headset compatibility with high fidelity headtracking.

Evolved course generator (stil not expecting a full track editor though), all fan requested courses and tracks, Porche (I don't know if EA still has the license) and 1500 cars, all fully realized, and more variety (no need to have 30 miatas really, hoever much I like them).

Am I setting myself up for disappointment?

i wouldnt hold your breath as far as a track editor goes but the rest seams pretty reasonable only it will still be 16 player online as 32 player would not be competetive enough it will just result in chaos, it might work in iRacing or rFactor but GT is on a console platform so some people will still be playing with gamepads.

I think it was partly hampered due to how long it took for the "official" edition to release.

Other things to consider are the sales of Prologue? Are those factored into the GT5 total sales, or not?

No. GT5 + GT5:P did 14.54m together.
