| Soundwave said: I got that out of the commercial because the majority of the commercial is little kids using the system and the token "oh great, my 14 year old sister wants to watch TV, what's little Johnny to do?". That's the message they choose to send, you can't fault the viewer, they obviously have chosen certain demographics they want to tie the system to. |
This part of the commercial, more than any other part, seems to me to appeal more to parents. Maybe you didn't have any siblings growing up, maybe you still don't have any kids yet. But, "I wanna watch tv!" "I'm in the middle of my game!" is something many parents will be happy to never hear again.
I don't get your gripes. The trailer shows adults playing with their kids. Would you like the trailer for this Mario game to show exclusively adults playing the game? No, we can't let people think that kids mights want to play this game! How unsophisticated! We can only show adults enjoying Mario now.
Instead of comparing this commercial for a Mario game to commercials for Brain Training or whatever, try comparing it to a commercial for a different Mario game. Man, look at all those kids in colorful shirts playing Mario! Doesn't it just ooze sophistication?

So they're sticking with that music then. That's one way to make the commercials memorable...
