It counts 19 failed apocalypse predictions. Nineteen. Including six from Harold Camping.

I believe researchers have said that the Mayan's never accounted for leap-year, so the supposed 2012 incident should've already happened regarding accurate time.

The real question is this. Do I buy the missus a birthday present? Her birthday is 21st December so do I save my money cuz there will be no need to buy her a present cuz we will be dead. However if I dont buy her a present she will kill me. Its a tough call. What do you guys think?

You should spend extra on her this year just in case A proposal would be a good idea :D

There is no chance of the world ending in 2012.

1.The Mayans never even predicited the world would end. In fact many times they talk about dates as far in the future as the year 5000d

2. The theory that the Mayans even predicted it didnt come around until the 1970s when some guy mistranslated a bunch of writings and just started randomly making his own stuff up.

3. There is no scientific evidence of anything world ending or changing at this time.

4. The Mayans werent that great at predicting the future anyways. The proof is that their culture got demolished and they didnt see it coming. They predicted they would still be around and a powerful empire in 2012

But yeah curse me for using logic and science. I should just watch end of the world shows on tv and read wierd blogs and believe everything I see

I was talking to someone today about this (briefly) and they said that with the differences between our current calendar and the mayan calendar, such as things like leap years, "December 21" by the Mayan calendar actually occurred a few months ago. I didnt check the validity of this claim but it does make sense. 12/21/12 will be like Y2K

The mayans simply stopped making the calendar, presumably because the person making it died- OR -
They went a few thousand years in the future and were like, I think several thousand years is good enough.
