They just can't top the epicness and scale of GOW3.
They can make up for it with story and gameplay variety(such as multiplayer) though. I'm sure SSM will deliver a great game. Near 90 metascore for sure.
I can't wait for this! I only just got into GOW so more of the same makes me happy!

Considering they are adding the furies (born from the blood that came from the severed genitals of Uranus), I think they will add more info about him. Maybe Chronus in the game mythos did not killed him, so he we will be the new bad guy.
Also after the ending in GOW3, there is clearly another "power" in the shadows that has not been shown. And I think that power was the one that "revived" Athena, and use her as his herald in the game.
I think that it is quite obvious that they will add more story to the franchise via this game, in order to have everything ready for GOW4.

Considering they are the main bosses in the game, I guess they could do something like what they did with the sisters of fate. You first fight 1, then you fight another; and after that you fight the 2 at the same time. And when you kill both, then fight the huge ugly remaining sister. LMAO! I really dont know though.

It seems they're going back to the smaller scale of GoW1 and 2 due to people's complaints with 3s convoluted story. No idea how that makes sense but that's what I've inferred from gameplay footage.

This is a prequel and hes much younger here.

You can infer a lot from gameplay footage : )
In all seriousness, I didn't think GoW 3 was larger scale in terms of the core gameplay. Now, some of the boss fights had a larger scale, but on average, I think GoW 2 & 3 were quite comparable in terms of scope. The big jump, at least to me, was between GoW 1 & 2.

The circle button is made so that you have your own set of attack with a weapon you pick up. I dont think youll have more weapons than the blades, but you can pick up stuff as you go and apparantly you can mix circle (that pick up) along with ur blades heavy (triangle) and blades fast (square), so you really dont have to switch weapons. Its actually pretty neat shit! If you dont have a weapon on you (you can toss them at any time), kratos will instead kick people :P
Ascension is said to be more like GoW1-2 and not GoW3 (kind of saddens me since I prefer 3 but okay xP, love all really).
Going back to the convention tomorrow. Will play it again >:D
