lol, this again?

Yes. Don't be mad. What he says is true.

I can see the Vita outselling the 3DS weekly in 3-4 years.

I  can see it outseling the 3DS next year. But not without a drastic pricee cut. Software alone will not get it anywhere close.

lol, im talking about the article. Im pretty sure that this isnt new...

HAHAHHAHA you're so right.. they said the samething about that flop the PS3.. http://www.qj.net/qjnet/wii/sony-ps3-in-marathon-instead-of-sprint-in-terms-of-sales.html

In 3-4 years I think Nintendo will be readying the successor to the 3DS, probably some kind of tablet.

They're already working on it. I don't think 3DS will have the lifespan of the DS, and the Vita is going to be the handheld equivalent of the GameCube.

In 3-4 years as well you'll probably be able to buy a tablet (iPad, Android, whatever) and have it sync to your TV wirelessly and then be able to display graphics close to/on par with PS3/360/Wii U and play with a bluetooth controller.

No console/handheld needed period.

The average cell phone/tablet come 2017-18 will rip the Vita (and 3DS of course) to shreds in performance power.

3DS/Vita will be outdated devices for a segment of kids who can't afford a tablet/cell phone in a few years.

Why so much sarcasm in this thread? I know some Sony haters are piling on, but a lot of posters are just expressing their valid opinion that Vita is doing poorly, and may not rebound as Sony hopes it will.

I for one want the Vita to do well, and I want Sony to remain a powerhouse in the industry. But the fact is that the 3DS is trending right along with the DS after a similar 19 month window, and the Vita is trending more closely with the Dreamcast.

A price cut would help things, but I think it would only lead to a short-term boost in sales, and then the Vita would slow down again. Sony insists on a very unproductive philosophy with the Vita, and it's summed up best by its new slogan: "console quality on the go." Many people are uninterested in replicating the console experience in a handheld. They want games that can be played in short bursts, they want games that are unavailable on home consoles, and, quite frankly, they want the games Nintendo offers more: Pokemon, Super Mario, Professor Layton, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, etc.

You can only sit back and wait for a device to be profitable for so long. Just because it worked with ps3 and may work with vita doesn't mean you can keep it up forever. Ask sega. You need to let your rep crash and focus on profits more.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D

You are right that a lot of people, the majority even, want to play short games but the sales for the psp and even some of the ds games suggest that there is also a market for bigger better quality games on handhelds. I am a good example of this - I am generally a console guy and have never really gotten into the short 5 min games that are so common nowdays. But now I have for the first time in my life got a handheld - vita - which I only got because it can play console style games.

Personally, I think the vita can succeed but it needs a really good price cut and some really good software - whose profile is probably greater than any of the games available on it right now.

How can Vita sells when it's more expensive then PS3? ( here in Portugal )

Using the Marathon analogy ...

The PS-Vita is running in a marathon that has a time limit of 8 hours, most of its sponsors (third party publishers) will pull support if it doesn't run in a respectable time, and the PS-Vita is currently running at a pace of 20 minutes per mile.

He means the paralympics marathon..
