$599 is a very optimistic guess in my opinion.. nowadays i5 tablets from Asus start at ~$900 and I doubt the surface pro will be much cheaper than that.

On an iPad you don't need to use the home button at all, if you enable multitasking gestures in the settings menu.

You just grab the screen (pinch in) with 4/5 fingers and it takes you to the home screen. Swipe up from the bottom and it brings up the multitasking bar. Swipe left or right with 4 fingers to switch between programs.

They've been available to the public since iOS 5 released. (Developers had access since 4.3)

They are very useful and I almost never use the home button on my iPad.The only time is when I want to take a screenshot(power and home button). Otherwise never.

Now if only Apple would enable them for the iPhone as well...

WOW, I didn't think it would be that much TBH.  But you never know.  TBH I thought the Surface would have come in a little cheaper considering the CPU, Screen Resolution and Camera's being used....a good $100 cheaper than the price it is.

Ah right. I did not know about the 5 finger pinch close nor the 4 finger swipe up for the app bar. You still have to longhold on the app to close it though. Anyways, it works nicely I see.

5 finger pinch close (I wasn't able to replicate with 4) to bring up the home screen is somewhat difficult on the phone I would presume :).

They are really very useful and I've been using them constantly since I found out about the feature. It's disabled (set to "off") by default. Switching between apps with a swipe is handy too, say I'm typing something in Pages and I need to check something I can swipe back to Safari and when I'm done swipe right back to Pages.

Actually, I don't think it would be too bad. Besides they could always substitute some other gesture instead. Before I upgraded my phone, I was using a "multitasking gesture" program on my jailbroken iphone 4 called Zephyr. The gestures are slightly different, it works pretty well.

Microsoft stated that the Surface Pro will be priced "on par with Ultrabook-class PCs", so I think most models (especially those with the covers) will be $1000 and up.

They don't seem to be interested in the low and medium price ranges and go for high priced market with a very stylish and well build product.

I was basing it my opinion on facts at hand the price of the device and the specs of it, thats how i came to the conclusion that nexus 10 wins. I am honestly not to bothered about tablet apps to be honest, i can just use the internet on the thing, instead of apps anyways. And the lack of tablet apps on android is because of the developers, it is not googles though at all, as android was modified for tablets since android 3 came out last year.

But just because iPad has apps specifically for it, just doesn't bother it's expensive already as you are limited by flash storage only on iPad and most apps actually cost money on iOS too, while on android they are often free. But, Android is still newer than iOS so is playing catch up in terms of apps, in the rest of the OS it is already more advanced i think.

As for Nexus 4 having just 8gb or 16gb is justified by it's low price (for a phone anyway!). I doubt you would need more than 16gb anyway. And i don't get the deal with no LTE, it's too expensive to use and service is not good yet, might as well as stick to 3G for now, which is decently fast in the UK at 5mb down 1mb up.

Well as far as tehnical specs there is no need for a very detailled spreadsheet to see that the Nexus 10 is better :)

But the tablet may be a monster on the technical side, it will not make any difference to me at the end when I need to choose a tablet.
Android is a big showstopper for me and so is the Nexus 10. Too bad, very nice specs.

The Nexus 10 comes in either a 16gb or 32gb configuration and has no SD card expandable storage. Exactly like the ipad except that the ipad has 3 storage sizes available. (16gb/32gb/64gb)

Platform specific apps are very useful as they tend to use the extra space available on the tablet more effectively rather than just being a blown up phone app. Take a look at this article which compares iphone apps versus their ipad counterparts. There are many free apps on ios as well, plus many paid ones also get discounted or become free for awhile. Appshopper ( http://appshopper.com/ ) is a good website/app to use for that. They also have a "app activity" for each app showing if a new update released for example or if there was a temporary price drop, etc.

It is a low price (for an new unlocked phone), but I guess it just depends on your usage. For my phone I went with the 32gb version since I tend to use my old ipod nano to store all of the music I'm currently listening to instead of using up the space on my phone. (saves my phone battery as well! ) If not I would definitely have gone for the 64gb version. On my ipad I tend to keep a lot of videos/music/etc. on there which is why I went for the 64gb version (and why I chose it again.) It was really useful when I took it with me on my trip back to the USA about 2 months ago.

Wait... then... what's the point of getting the Surface Pro if you can just get a laptop that blows it out of the water for the same price?
